yes shouldn't make a difference for the engine mounts

Interesting -- but doesn't the Z have some pretty high tech and firm mounts?

From the spec sheet:

Side: 2 solid; rear: 1 liquid-filled; front: 1 electronically
controlled liquid-filled

I hear the same, but I guess these were intended for some major power or something like that

That is usually the primary, also the stock mounts are designed around the factory power level and probably a little over, but once you start throwing on 100whp or more the stock mounts might not work up to standard.

KamiSpeed, any chance they might give a solid discount or support for a first buyer (with boost) and provide a solid review? Buying the part is fairly cheap, but install on these will cost a bit more with getting them in.

I'll see what I can do, for now I got this image over from Drop

http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r...p/IMG_7823.jpg

Drop using polyurethane pucks with a durometer rating of 75 giving you stiffer mounts and probably saving some weight too

NewYorkJon34 08-31-2011 01:59 PM

Anyone with a pic of where the stock mounts are on the car?

Right -- but which one's get replaced?

Can you even replace the electronically controlled front one (controlled how, BTW???)? It looks like only the rear one could be easily swapped out, and the two on the sides are already solid.

I think that electronically controlled thing must be some sort of misprint on the spec sheet. I know some other nissans have these electronically controlled motor mounts(the murano for example), maybe they just cut and paste details from another model or something? It doesn't make sense to me. I don't think there is any "front mount" just the two sides and the tranny.

I'm afraid saku that without a review of this part or major discount, the chances of someone buying this will be slim

NewYorkJon34 10-14-2011 10:34 PM

why not?, no one has done a review because everyone is waiting a review before they buy. Its a circle that will never end, lol

NeverBoneStck 10-21-2011 12:37 AM

Did you notice a difference with the trans mount?

'10Anamoly 10-21-2011 06:10 AM

In for results.

NeverBoneStck 10-21-2011 08:42 AM

The shifts are way better with no slop . Does have a bit more interior noise but I am dampening my car soon ..

awesome guess that answers the question of whether these work on a G

Jeffblue 10-21-2011 01:55 PM

i have solid motor mounts in my 300zx, i like them. but mine needed to be replaced and the motor was out of the car anyway.

fuct 10-21-2011 03:38 PM

last thing i want to do is introduce more vibration into the cabin. its like we driving a truck engine or something...

well you lose some comfort but gain response and feel, its a trade off that applies to some people but not all... It'd be amazing to have the best of both world haha

NeverBoneStck 10-21-2011 04:44 PM

To me the trade off was worth it .. Nice response and it takes about 500 miles to fully break in .. Can't wait for the motor mounts ..

How much more vibration enters the cabin? I find that the Z is actually very smooth at idle and low rpm, I'd almost wish there was a bit more engine feel present. Does it really improve engine response as well?

id hope the car would be smooth at idle and low rpm. im talking about anything above 3k rpms

doesnt sound like you even need new engine mounts.

O&G 10-24-2011 03:16 PM

We used the tranny mount on my custom single turbo build. It's a great upgrade, shifts are smooth and tighter. Vibration is minimal, I don't notice at all! I will be posting a write up about the build soon, look for it!
