Default No oil cooler

Just wondering how my car would hold up on a track with no oil cooler.

Everyone says they have high temps but mine has NEVER been above 200 and still maybe not even that high. This is mostly daily driving but I do have some fun a lot of the times. Just wondering if I got extremely lucky or if it will shoot up and go limp right when I get on the track. Normal temp for me is 180.

I also live in Florida. Outside temps are upper 90's and getting to the 100's and still no problems..

I plan on going to autox soon and wondering if ill be alright with no cooler since my temps are low.

autox is not really track, but no you are fine for that. Track, I wouldn't do it without it.

I find it pretty suprising you have never been above 200 even in normal driving, especially with florda's weather. But as far as tracking the car, getting a oil cooler is pretty much required.

i think that you may have a faulty oil temp censor or a faulty gauge

how high do you rev during normal everyday driving? Do you get on it full throttle to the higher rpms ~7k ever? Just drive it harder then you seem to be, if i shift at 3-4k and dont accelerate hard i dont get about 2-215* f not sure what your doing, but yeah try driving it harder?

I'm not so sure, compared to some who have had heating issues on long drives, mine barely makes 200 most of the time, and has never hit 220 even after 30 minutes at 75MPH.

I rarely get to redline, but I am often over 5k rpm in manual mode, but city driving isn't too aggressive.

I go to redline a lot. If no one else is on he road ill launch from stop lights 0-60 or so. Even after a 5 hour drive to altanta averaging 75mph it stayed under 200.

I tend to shift around 3000 just normal driving

I certainly do baby my car. But ill see how hot I can get it

some cars will heat up more than others. its the nature of things
no 2 engines will ever really act 100% the same

some peopels heat up too much
some peopels dont really heat up as much

If you really think the gauge is defective have the dealer check it out. drive for a while let them record the temp on the gauge then pull some oil out and check its temp immediately.

oil coolers is one of those things where it falls into 4 categories

1. You need it
2. you want it
3. you dont want it
4. you dont need it.

just figure out which one you are.

I dont want to have to go through that trouble with the dealer. Pretty sure Im not going to bother with it unless I run into problems. Just was getting some opinions

I just installed mine via Modshack way. Very easy install, no bumper removal needed. The most time consuming thing was just making the bracket and I routed my lines near the power steering so I did not cut anything.
