VQ37 All Motor RWHP?

Hi guys I have a quick question....I am wondering if there is a way to get 350rwhp on these engines?

I am laying down 320-325rwhp currently
  • 09 Nismo
  • FI Long tubes
  • FI Cbe 18"
  • Stillen GenIII DCAI
  • NST Under/Overdrive pulleys
  • Osiris Uprev Tune

I have other mods but nothing supporting power. I am wondering what can i do to get more power out of my motor without going Forced Ind.? Just wondering how I can get more power.

uhmmm idk if you go above 330 without having FI

andrewkd16 06-05-2011 10:24 PM

ah poop ok i was hoping these cars could lay down 350 without fi. i mean i am actually going to try and make this a track car and i wanted it to push around 350

A small engine build! Even then you won't see huge gains, yet better delivery of power. Not a fun road to go down yet a little more rewarding.

Almost not worth it compared to FI.

youre essentially topped out for the stock engine...time to start dropping pounds everywhere you can.

I took 158lbs off my 07 Z

ah ok well darn but anything i can do that will give me anything? like cams? maybe the kenetix intake manifold...? can u bore these engines larger? i figured if u could i can at least build it up...maybe help a little and there is no concern with money lol i just think it would be a better track car without turbo or sc.

oh and where do i need to start the dieting process for my car (dropping weight?)

well if what you want is to keep the stock power curve, look at the superchargers. My car has almost the same exact power curve as stock, just +150hp.

and

dropping weight, there are a few spots that are very easy, but it gets real hard real fast after that. Can start by taking your trunk weight off.

Jnaut will be releasing his battery relocation kit soon and thats a solid 30lbs off at a reasonable price.

Lighter wheels, lugnuts, flywheel, rotors and crank pulley are very important...thats where you should start. All the places where inertia plays a big part are most important. Then shave as much unsprung weight as possible and then start taking weight from the sprung weight, try to take more weight off the front since the car will get light in the rear because of the already front-biased weight distribution and because you will most likely be taking the spare tire out and the sub if you have one.

what's the budget?

Well research bro! The 370Z is a new platform but racecar formula is the same. Stock power gets better with less weight and better supporting mods!

andrewkd16 06-05-2011 10:49 PM

ya i might look into supercharger i guess since it will keep my power curve similar just looking to build it into a track car i really want to try to get into scca racing

andrewkd16 06-05-2011 10:50 PM

eh not budget really i mean it can be an on going project lol but i have been looking into buying a gtr. z1 is trying to talk me out of it but i understand where they are coming from saying the gtr drives itself and the z is more fun to drive.

andrewkd16 06-05-2011 10:51 PM

meaning i can put the money from the gtr into my z instead and if u catch my drift, but yeah ill have to just research it and find out what i need to do...do i look in track section to find builds or something?
