High Oil Temp - Is this the SOLUTION? (NISSAN'S SUPER OIL)??
Living in Texas, we are now nearing summer. It has been 85+ with medium humidity. Naturally one can expect high oil temps however, I realized now, after my first oil change (done by myself) higher oil temps and faster fuel consumption. I drive about 25 miles (1 way) to work 5 days a week, all city streets. Normally, the oil gauge it would stay around 190* with spirited driving. Now, it's going at or slightly above 200+*, same job, same driving habits. I also noticed fuel goes a bit faster too (prior to summer), even driving slower due to high gas prices (I did a re-learing air/Idle). I use only Mobil1 oil, the 2nd change (5/29 @8100 mi), I again used Mobil 1, this time 10/30 extended protection and added a bottle of water wetter. The temp still goes to 200+* even in the morning (78* low humidity 5/31). I began to look at oil coolers and came across this VERY good article (link blow). All 370Z owners should read this article , mainly the part of "Nisan's SUPER OIL" (page 3 & 4 though the whole article is good) After reading this, it seemed to all fit, fuel consumption, high oil temps and it all started after first oil change, so I strongly believe. There is more than just oil Nissan created. It also goes into molecular "bearings" and why this oil is needed for the DLC (diamond hard like coating) on the pistons, cylinder walls etc... Also, it touched on chatter noise on valves and loss of hp due to friction. After reading this article, I plan on switching to NISSAN'S SUPER OIL, Nissan sells it for the same price of a good racing oil, so I'm sold. This oil was crated for the Z's engine. heat is not uncommon in hi out put engines, it touched a little on BMW and Corvette heat issues. YOU GOT TO READ THIS ARTICLE!!!
You have to copy/paste link, stupid thing wont accept a web link, prob because is another forum...? If you're having trouble, PM me, I will email the article link. Respects~ HTML Code:

You are not talking about Ester Oil, right?
BTW, I went to ZdayZ 2011 put on the car 1,250 miles including the Tail of Dragon and numerous back roads. I didn't have a problem with the oil temp. The 200 range oil temp is almost standard, if it doesn't goes over 250-260 go will be OK.

So far I only have two free oil change by the dealer. They told me that they used Ester Oil, can't swear on that.
But I haven't had any oil temps problems in almost 2 yrs, I don't DD the Z.

True. However, they know what the engine needs and their oil has it (see the article) If I'm not mistaken, it basically is ester oil with zinc and other junk formulated for the VQ37VHR.
