Firt Service Oil Temp Iissue

Hi all First service completed on my 2011 370z GT Connect but since the service the oil temp has gone up about 10 degrees???
Before the Service Temps were just short 100 degrees and maybe 102 if havin fun ;o) But now since the service it's running 110/112

Main dealer uk service but what crap stuff could they have put in to cause this

Thanks peeps Dave.

Hmm. Interesting. Do you know what weight oil that they used?

Davecov 05-24-2011 06:56 PM

Not sure TBH...Would thicker oil do this ?
I Only went there for the Main Stealer Stamp...If anyone has a decent oil replacement recomendation i will drain it and put that in instead Thanx

Thicker could affect it. Thicker, more friction, more heat.
I use Mobil 1 and haven't had any issues.

Ok thanks for the advice Buddy....what grade is that? Ive seen some 0W-40 Castrol Edge on offer recently i think they do a 5W-40 also whats the normal branded recomendations thanks

Eagle 05-24-2011 07:28 PM

I've been using Redline 5W-30, no problems yet. Not sure if they sell that in the UK though

Davecov 05-24-2011 07:34 PM

I think they may have put some of the general oil from the extra large container that goes in the likes of a Micra or something....As the only thing they did was change the oil  So Frustrating as you should expect the best posibble oil from the Main Dealer :shakes head:

I use the same. I noticed slightly cooler oil temps when I moved from nissan ester oil to the redline oil.

Sounds plausible.

I use ester 5W-30. My temps got very high before the oil cooler, but I can still bring them up to 225*F with the cooler.

I switched from Nissan ester oil 5w-30 to Mobil 1 0w-40, and the engine is noticeably cooler.

I also, use redline 5w-30 and have coller oil temps. Also, the car seems to cool down quicker.

Yep, same thing when I switched from ester to Mobile1. Same 5W-30.

First of all congratz on you're new Zed. Now second is you need to drain that garbage they put inside youre engine. I personally use Royall Purple 5w-30
i also have AAM oil pan spacer gives me +1 quart. Engine temp 190-220F at OAT about 60-85F does not really pass 220 maybe 225 thats it.

Also drain youre brake/clutch fluid and add motul brake fluid and change tranny and LSD fluids to redline around 2k 2.5k it will make youre car drive easier and perform better.

P.S.-get a K&N oil filter or Purolator pure 1 14610
