Sounds like you had visions of Vishnu dancing around in your head... lol

ya. Vishnu does wonders for 335s man. then again, there are big gains with turbo cars. anyway, congrats on the tune.

Funky tidbit of useless info, I actually had Shiv from Vishnu racing tune my wrx back ~5 years ago. We were the first group (10 cars) to be tuned by him in the east coast. One of the cooler experience's I've had working on cars.

So is the 11whp an average or is that peak ?

KillerBee370 04-21-2009 04:42 PM

I'm guessing it's an average. I think (like with my stock base numbers) they do numerous pulls and present the average.

Well no, theres a HUGE difference between turbo vs NA tunes. Turbo tunes yield tons and tons and tons more power than do N/A ones. That having been said, I did see a 350Z with bolt-ons gain over 20WHP the other day with a custom tune. This tune from technosquare is obviously mild and applicable to everyone...therefore it has to be super super safe to account for the folks who live in 115 Degree summers. A dyno tune should be able to yield a good bit more than 11whp on the 370Z.

Do not take that personally KillerBee, Im not talking about your car, I am talking about their shelf tune. 11whp isn't bad for something that needs to be extremely safe. One thing that is very cool, is that we once again see the 370 making 300whp on simple bolt ons.

So we know after 4 people that have gotten the same results, that this car in fact makes stupid amounts of power with simple mods.

KillerBee370 04-21-2009 09:29 PM

Agreed RCZ. I drove an Evo IX with mods and a tune and the tune itself made a huge difference. Even so, that car was only making 281 awhp (under load on a Dyno Dynamics) so I am quite pleased with these results on the Z.

RCZ 04-22-2009 10:07 PM

Yup. except the evo had to put the power down through a awd tranny. It was still making more than you ;)

Awesome car. So you made 300 with the stillen cbe, hfc and jwt intakes intake huh? Good to know. That means the Stillen HFC's are making awesome power...

K20A2_S 04-22-2009 11:00 PM

How much is the tune?

Can we see slightly better results with using the G3 long tubes vs the jim wolf ones?

Which 02 sensor reads the a/f ratio and which one controls the CEL light, what I'm trying to get to is if they cna turn the one that reads the CEL light off so that the light doesn't come on for people with test pipes.

The front O2's (on the exhaust manifolds or headers) are actually wideband O2 sensors, and they feed the ECU data for AFR. The rear pair (in the rear of the cats) are emissions stuff to throw CELs for malfunctioning cats. Disabling them may be tricky on this car any other way than actually reflashing the ECU (like UpRev, etc).

Yeah I guess it was... technically on the DD in DynoJet mode it was reading 347.1 ... what a tremendous power loss to the wheels! Oh well.. it still blew the doors off just about everything anyway.

It was a beautiful thing while it lasted!

The JWT's came off before this number was achieved. So basically just the tune, HFC and CBE. Yeah.. I'd say those high flows really uncork some serious power.

Really? thats really good to hear. I can't wait till next week!

Nice results, Mike! How come the post-tune dyno doesn't show AFR? I want to know how much they leaned it to achieve that 11 hp gain. Also, does anyone know how SuperFlow compares against Dyno Dynamics?

I don't know why there's no AFR shown. I am picking up the car today and will ask some more questions and post appropriately here. I would guess that the SuperFlow and Dyno Dynamics are pretty close as they both have the ability to simulate road bearing load. The only one that really makes you feel like a porn star is the Dynojet :icon17:

I'm just glad to be getting my car back FINALLY!!

Nice Evo!

<--Getting ready to sell his IX. :)
