Great seller, fast shipping and worthwhile replacement. Very happy with mine. Feel more comfortable having something in there vs leaving it out. I do recommend swapping vs full uninstall then reinstall. I had a period of time I had it fully off but it would have been much easier to just swap with the new. Then again, I wouldn't have known how bad I wanted to replace the stock one until I felt the diff of not having a helper. Just saves pulling the top pin which is a pain to get in and out without the risk of dropping it behind the plastic paneling while also holding the clutch in. |

Stuck, removed the c clip, but can't get the pin out. Tried pushing down on the clutch and removing the pin, but it came out half way and can't seem to get it out. Any help?

If you got it part way out, can you get some vice grips on there and leverage it out the rest of the way?

Sorry for the revival.
Just did this and the clutch feels like a normal clutch finally! Just for peace of mind, its fine if no assembly is in place correct? I dont have a replacement spring so im just riding with nothing there instead. I know someone said earlier that it shouldnt affect anything but im wondering if anyone located any problems (over time)? just want to be sure im not hurting anything |

Not sure if this was mentioned or not but I thought I'd add something.
After removing the helper spring and re-installing all of the other OEM components (another small spring and what appears to be it's housing) the clutch felt MUCH better. That being said, I would occasionally feel a "pop" when fully compressing the clutch and letting off (in every gear). This "pop" would end a little bit into my "sweet spot" making it hard to smoothly get the car rolling. After getting back under the seat... I realized that the smaller spring was getting stuck to the housing and popping out. This is a result of no tension on the smaller spring due to the lack of the OEM spring. I removed the smaller spring and housing... VIOLA. The clutch is pretty much perfect. I don't think I'll be purchasing an aftermarket spring! TL;DR = Remove everything you see below!

I never messed with it and got the RJM clutch pedal assembly instead. If the spring replacement/removal doesn't satisfy you, I highly recommend the RJM pedal

Funny, I just got to driving the car again from winter storage. I kept saying, "what the hell is wrong with this clutch?" especially in 1st gear. Its been 5 years now and I still feel like a newb in 1st with this car. I am going to give this at try right away.
So what is the consensus, just remove both springs vs. buying a different spring?

I may go with the rjm pedal. I've had the other spring for a while and after a while you don't notice a difference anymore and it's still jerky

Step 1: remove springs
Step 2: don't buy new springs Step 3: take wife/gf to dinner with the savings Step 3: buy self beer

I would like of like one as well just to compare between no spring and the new spring. Let me know if you find someone selling and I will do the same...
Also, you can buy online but its a minimum of $40 plus shipping, which is why I assume people were group buying...
