Okay well let me know when you get a chance. Also will this be a good upgrade with an upgraded clutch? I have a JWT clutch.

Ok there's good news and bad news. The Fastenal spring I mentioned earlier doesn't work. The inside diameter of the spring doesn't fit correctly over the assembly. I ordered the day after I measured it and I guess I wasn't paying close enough attention when I placed the order.

The good news is that I found another spring after I realized the error that definitely does work. P/N 72577 at Century Spring is the winner 72577 - COMPRESSION SPRING - Part Characteristics | Century Spring Corp. The spring rate is roughly 20% of the stock spring and it feels very similar to running without the spring installed. The bad news is that you need to order 4 of them to meet their minimum order quantity.

Here are some pics of the Century spring

Are u sure that the fastenal spring doesn't work? Looking at the sizes and spec looks like it should be a go!

Anyway I'll be trying one of the ones from fastenal Monday when it gets here!

The ID of the Fastenal spring is about 0.76". When you pull the assembly apart you can see the spring fits around a collar on the aluminum piece near the lower pin and around a sheet metal hat thing on the other end. The diameters of both the "hat" and the "collar" are around 0.83" so the spring should have a minimum ID of 0.84" to guarantee a good fit. You might be able to force the Fastenal spring to fit but probably not without tweaking it somehow. Sorry if my earlier post caused you to buy a useless spring, I jumped the gun a bit on that one...

No worries it's np! My buddy who works there hooks it up with huge discounts!

These are the specs he gave me though for the #71 spring

OD - 1"
Wire size -.12"
Length - 2.5"
lbs capacity - 47lbs

Looks like it should work the ID would still be left at .88" but we will see if it fits on Monday!

You need to subtract the wire size twice from the OD to get the ID. Your ID would then measure .76" which agrees with the numbers blue posted.

So just to confirm, P/N 72577 at Century Spring does work and fixes the spring problem? If that's the case I'd be willing to get in on a group buy with 3 other people if anyone is interested.

I have that spring (Century Spring Product# 72577) installed. It fits perfect and only gets rid of the looseness of the clutch pedal when its not depressed. Otherwise feels like there is no spring installed. Exactly what i was looking for!!!

I'm glad it's working out for you! I'm happy with it as well. The P/N is definitely 72577

So who else wants to get one? Looks like we do need to order 4 springs so somebody needs to buy and distribute. I'd be willing to do it if there are 3 other takers...
