Triple ditto.........Sounds like someone was joyriding without caring. The dealer should be able to replace it under warranty without any problems. You can always escalate (sp?) to NISSAN corporate and get a resolution.

I honestly don't think you could ruin a transmission that quickly without doing something epic.

Chances are good there was a factory defect, or the trans was run without fluid. Nothing that has been said shows any incompetence on the dealer's part. That doesn't mean there isn't any, but no reason to take it to a different dealer at this point.

I agree. It would be very difficult to blow a tranny in 160 miles. Lol. But if he had the car for most of those miles I doubt he romper on it. My guess is also no-very low fluid.

Sucks but they'll fix it and it will be as good as new

6 trips and they still couldn't figure out to take the spacers off is incompetence by defenition I had my tranny replaced around 8000, and although they didn't manage to put the rubber boot under the shifter on correctly and it got tore off everything else fine after. I switched dealerships after the tranny issue and haven't had as many problems with my new one it's all about they're attitude they all get trained the same some techs/shops just care more than others.

This kind of crap drives me nuts!! I went in the other day to get the new rear hatch springs for my Nismo, I have to schedule an appointment, take the car in and have someone "install" them...stupid. I don't trust a valet driver to park my car, there are way to many poeple out there not getting paid enough to even give a ****.
