Seriouly bro I really help with this

DOOMMONKEY777 03-21-2014 03:38 AM

Dude i have the same thing on my 22k miles Z, it could be the tranny bushing or the little shaft on ur pumpkin where the drive shaft is connected to, u need to lube that, but nissan should do that.

But am no expert or anything just my best guess here.
I have been waiting for like 12k miles for it to give out, and am still rolling strong same pitch never changed just more frequent.

I seem to have run into the same problem...
Whenever I go from 6th to 5th, some sort of quick squeak sound comes from under the shift knob.
Has anyone found the problem/solution?

Did you ever find the problem?

Same squeaky squeaky!

So I have a 2015 sport bought brand new and just hit 10k miles. The squeaky started about two weeks ago, it's starting to drive me crazy to the point where I know it's going to happen every time I down shift from 6th to 5th.

I honestly don't think this is anything more than an annoyance, I can duplicate it every time, while driving or while parked and the car completely off. It sounds like a plastic on plastic squeak to be, or metal on plastic squeak. I have not yet hunkered down and tried to locate the squeak just yet, because I know it's to go something like me looking like Bill Murray looking for a gopher on a golf course lol. I suspect I'll end up with the seats, Center console and most of the interior pulled before ever even getting close to actually finding it.

Rest assured that if it's ever found, I'll share!

Edit : brought her to the dealer, I was the second Z who had brought it in for the same problem, they replaced shift lever under warranty... No more squeek!

After my original post here, the squeak eventually went away on its own in a week or two...

Happens on mine too. My shifter squeaks going in and out of 5th. Also at higher rpm (about 4k and above) the shifter rattles like its going to fall apart. I don't beat the crap out of my car or anything, I think it's just a bad shifter linkage on some of the Z's.
I'm going to drop it off at the dealer and have them replace it under warranty when I get the time.

Yes, my shifter was squeaking and I took up the two shift boots and put white lithium grease on the ball that the shifter pivots on. No more squeak.
