So if I have a base model, I can order 2 short stub shafts from OS Giken and they will fit without modification?

You have to order them from Nissan.

The stub axles are a Nissan oem part. You can order them from Ryan or myself and we will make sure you have what you need. It goes without saying you also need two new side bearings.

We were planning on it. But being my car had only 2000 miles on it they were in great shape. But with some milage on them it's best to go ahead and replace along with the seals. I'd also look into the Nismo differential cover with the cooling fins. I should of picked one up before I had this installed.

Here's a link for the part number. Which can be had at any dealer. Just confirm with Nissan this is the right part though.

Chris is mistaken. We replaced the side bearings as it's not possible to remove them from the old diff without likely damage. We did NOT replace the side seals because they looked perfectly new and had very low miles on them. No reason to change them out.

Thanks guys! Definitely the part I thought it was. I also heard they were pretty tough to get on there.

Also keep in mind with the OS LSD you will need 2 of the Right Side stub axles, NOT 1 L and 1 R. Oh and yes, they can sometimes be a huge pain to get in there

Right. I'm actually putting a Quaife into my base open diff and it shouldn't require any axle stubs.

Ok...so let's say you have a Sport model with the factory LSD. Would the OS Giken LSD be a good idea? Would it make that much if a difference? And in that case what parts would I need?

I read everything but it appears the discussion was geared (LOL) towards the no LSD base models.

Yes it's good to swap to a true LSD over the stock VLSD which isn't great for the true enthusiast who will push the car more beyond DD like lots of spirited driving and defiantly track and auto cross. The stock unit will heat up and basically will act as a open diff like the base model.

The OSG will fit in any model just the base requires different axle stubs.

I just had the OS Giken super lock installed in my 09 base model.

Did you have any issues with the ABLS (Active Brake Limited Slip) still on? i.e. does it interfere with the clutch LSD operation?

I don't think there is a setting to disable it via UpRev...

I apologize in advance for my ignorance and since the conversation is already going I thought it appropriate to ask here:

On OSG's website they list the z33/z34 together when you sort them by manufacturer and it mentions it's for the AT only. I have a sport package z34 with MT, is this going to be a problem to install? Am I missing something here? See link below:

Another thing is that I had planned to get some KW v3's with my tax return money, however, I know I'm eventually going to need a proper LSD for the track as well. Which one do you guys think would be the better early buy? I think our stock shocks seem pretty good with sways but I'd like to have more experienced opinions.
