clutch pedal "clack" noise
I know there are some threads around about noises coming from the clutch but from what I've read mine seems to be a little different.
I made a video which clearly shows the noise. The camera is located right underneath the spring of the clutch pedal. I will take the car to the dealer but I wanted to get some input here first. anyone else experienced this? any ways to fix it? any feedback is welcome. thanks! p.s. sorry I'm not sure how to embed the video but here is the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5ghtsevI-o Last edited by VQinside; 04-09-2011 at 09:29 PM. |

It is the exact same issue many have had with this clutch pedal. The "click", "clack" or whatever you want to call it comes and goes in my car. I have heard a number of explanations from others including tension, hydraulics etc... but no one seems to have identified a consistent point of failure. I would love to hear a solid explanation and a way to get it fixed once and for all.

You see the rod part of the clutch pedal? It goes through the firewall, and there's this rubber grommet of some sort that this rod goes through. It pops in and out when you press the clutch pedal. Well, that's how I sorta remember seeing it.

Is this something that the dealer will replace under warranty?
Its driving me crazy. Like others said it comes and goes so I'm sure that when I take it to the dealer they are going to say " we couldn't replicate it". anyways I'm afraid that even if they replace any parts will come back again. |

You can check it out yourself when you peek under the pedal for the rubber thing by the firewall. I don't know how to describe it. I also get the spring creaking noise when I press the pedal. Check up with them to see if they can remedy it... assuming it's all under warranty it doesn't hurt to ask.
