That sounds like it could be a promising development! I bet a good cam could really open up the N/A tuning possibilities for the 370Z.

haha they gave me that line a year ago it's all bs they don't want to stuff the time in it because we already buy their software. they sell so many licenses they don't have to care and there is no alternative

As cool as it would be to see some cam options available for the 370, I don't think the market is big enough to make it an attractive investment.

I don't think you're going to get much from an NA car. VVEL allows more overlap where it makes sense (high RPM) while providing smooth streetability. It could possibly benefit FI as you don't want that overlap when you're trying to compress the AF mixture. |

no they've given up. it's especially bs because our exhaust cams a just a different grind on hr cams. you could probably call jwt and have a set ground for little extra cost on a set of hr cams. uprev is full of **** and just won't say it they don't care past making they're contracts to gtm and stillen work. so if it is necessary to run boost sure, uprev will do it or else they would lose contracts, thats why we got the new timing control past that we,re on our own.

Also, you can easily call up some machine shops and send them the specs on your exhaust cams and have custom ones made.

Heres the answer
I've been doing some search lately to solve our VVEL issue, I found this company online that offers complete CAN BUS software’s and Interfaces.
They also offer Engineering services maybe we can start a Group Buy and contract them to offer us new software for our cars I’m not good at negotiating so I will leave it to someone with a better idea of what we need to do the negotiations. Here is a link to their web page they look super LEGIT. Vector: Software + Services for Automotive Engineering |

if i had something that could take the accelerator pedal position(0-5v) x rpm (square wave), and generate a pwm for servo control based on a 3d map, (preferably something that could also do cvtc cam adjustment stepper signal as well as run the ignition and fuel as a standalone for cheaps) i could make it work. hell i'm sure a motec calibrated correctly could do it but last time i priced one out that could do it, it was ~11k$ after the options required.
basically all that is needed is 2 hbridge dc motor controllers that can handle the amp draw from the vvel motors, i have two in mind, they have to have an analog position feedback control circuit integrated into them and they are about 200 for the pair after heat sinks, enclosures, wiring and POT feedback sensors maybe $400<----all that would let you move and control the motors then it all comes down to mapping the pwm signal and running the motor with a stand alone/wiring it all in to the car. I talked to sam before about it and he thought an fconvpro could do it, but it wouldn't be cheap AT ALL. we have expensive ways to do it what we need is a cheap way i say we blind fold, tie up and beat the guys from uprev till they code out cvtc and vvel for us, the Mother F*ckers Edit: also if anyone out there has mad bank and they want it now i'll send you some part numbers to take to a shop that could drop in a motec and for round abouts $15k plus labor you could have TOTAL control over every aspect of this engine.

Ya.. would be nice. So the initial thought is there are gains to be made through vvel? I talked to Christian
@ Cobb and he did mention there probably is power to be made through tuning vvel . Time will tell I guess |
