So yea... about rear diff fluid temps...

Since the fluid change it feels much better so I don't think anything is wrong with the VLSD.

Yea you would have known right away if you where running an empty diff. It would not have lasted long.

Tell me something. If you have an open diff, turn a corner, and slam the throttle down midcorner, do you just spin the inside tire without breaking the back end loose? If that's the case, my VLSD works great because my car is very tail happy. Just thinking of ways to test your VLSD given that melted plug.

I use:

Redline 75/90 rear diff.

Redline MT-85 in the trans.

My differential oil was recently changed out at 25k that is 5k less than the recommended oil change. I have heard of folks stating the oil was very black after their first drain. Mine was honey looking like new when drained there was no metal shavings on the drain plug.

Went with Redline in the diff and clunk.

Shifting is slightly stiff when cold and improves after warned up.
