The sleeve properly aligns the bearing face to the pressure plate fingers, Without it the slave bearing can push through the fingers and blow out the slave.

The stock slave will still blow out in time but the sleeve will prolong the life of it.

I bought an ACT 6puck clutch.

The HR specific ACT kits do not require a sleeve. ACT pressure plates are built like the stock HR/VHR with rounded fingers so they fit without anything else needed. You will probably blow out the stock slave pretty quick with it as the pressure plates are fairly heavy.

We have a HD slave kit for the ACT kits also.
