Stalling the 7AT
So last night, I was driving home around 1AM. There were no cars on the road, so I figured I have some fun. I turned off traction control, put it in M mode and decided I was gonna drift the car, as I turned right, at the four way intersection. I was coming at it in 2 gear, went side ways and started sliding. Now, during this slide, I guess I was having too much fun? that I forgot to take my foot off the gas... So I spun out of control and was doing doing doughnuts in the middle of the road. After the 2nd circle, I tried to correct the car, and drive off. But EVERYTHING just turned off on me and my z started rolling backwards into the median. I freaked out and pulled the E brake. Put the car into Neutral and tired to start the car again.. it did not work. So I put it in park and got out of the car to see if I hit anything. Got back in the car and tried to start it.. it worked normal again. I drove it to school this morning and everything was fine.
Can anyone tell me WHAT happened and should I be worried about it? Hope what I wrote was clear enough for you guys to understand what happened.

Maybe something got stuck to your air filter and stopped the flow of air to your engine? |

I don't track my Z (Auto X or Road Race) but I have heard the Z can get fuel starvation from hard cornering or in heavy transitions. How much fuel did you have in the car when doing this?
I drift my Z from time to time. 2nd and 3rd seem to be the best gears to do it in with the 7AT. In 2nd I don’t have to throttle the gas much once it breaks loose I roll on the throttle in 2nd. Easy to drift in this gear since it’s so short. Once you get the hang of drifting in 2nd you can try 3rd. It takes more practice speed and balls to do it in 3rd but once you successfully pull on Godzilla drift its hard to wipe off the $hitty grin from your face. Just practice in a empty parking lot or a road without nasty ditches or curbs.

Your lucky no one saw you, they should have smacked you upside your head when you got out of your car. Clearly you don't know wtf you are doing and if a car or pedestrian had shown up while you were out of control you were incapable of doing anything to stay out of harms way. Go to a track or an empty parking lot that way the only person who gets hurt when you screw up again is you.

Lets just lock this thread. Oh and next time maybe just tell us you did a dougnut in a empty lot and this happen. Not that you where drifing on the street lost control and almost hit something. ok?

Dude. That is just... what the fvck are you doing? It's a public road. It doesn't matter if it's 1 AM. Come on... you're either going to wreck your car, kill yourself or kill someone else. Do that sh!t in an empty parking lot or something... or better yet, not at all. Jeez. Quote:
Now go hit yourself in the face with a shovel and never do that again. Practice the Initial D sh!t off of public roads. Christ!

I had a quarter of a tank left, and the fuel might be a good reason why it happened. Thank you to everyone for the help. Trust me, the last thing I want to is wreck my car and or worst.. hurt someone. I've always played around in empty park lots.. spinning out and stuff and never had problems. But I don't know what I was thinking that night.

Do you live in town? I saw a white 370z today as I was pulling into the gun shop on capital circle by the I-10
