Potentially there could be more low end torque by having the exhaust valves open less in the low RPM's. I don't think the gains were enough for them to justify it, especially as it would have no effect during performance driving.

you would think that the tuning possiblitys are going to big huge! especially with FI, i know with MIVEC and VTEC you can tune them to get highter low end tq and faster turbo spool
