Default New Z Owner - Clutch ?'s

What's up guys, I just recently purchased my first 370Z and I love it. I went from a Jeep Wrangler to a Nissan Titan, now to a Z and I absolutely love it. However, I'm a little worried about my clutch. I only have 1300 miles on it and 1st and 2nd gear seem to be the only gears giving me problems. It may be just me but I feel alot more vibration and/or "clanks" when I shift into first and also from 1st to 2nd. Also, 2nd gear is real "grabby" (maybe I'm waiting too late to shift from 1st to 2nd, or I'm not giving it enough gas through the transfer ???) 3rd on up is smooth no problems there, but I am a little worried about 1st and 2nd. Like I said this is my first sports car so I might not be doing this right but from having a Jeep I assume that its not that much different. I don't smell the clutch burning or anything like that, so thats good. Any advice or wisdom shared would be much appreciated ! Thanks

Tim

You will come to learn that the VQ engine is quite noisy and the Tranny is kind of clunky and noisy, its just the way it is. You will soon learn to not pay attention to these little issues (if you can call them that) once you start testing the limits of traction on each and every on and off ramp

Also I think 1st and 2nd gear have like double or triple cone syncors, that might also be a reason for the weird feeling???? Correct me if I'm wrong guys.

Yes going back into first gear takes some time to master, just let it go in slowly, don't force it. I have been driving manual for a long time and this is not new. The 1-2 shift is a little notchy, I only have 600 miles on the vehicle so far. When the tranny is cold it's worse, when it warms up it's really nice.

Cool, thanks guys ! By the way on/off ramps can be very fun unless the State Trooper is sitting at the end of it. Does anyone have a Radar Detector installed in there car (I'm not talking about the one's you stick to the windshield, I'm talking about the ones that you can integrate into your car) ??? If so, which one would you prefer ?

Valentine A1 Radar is the best it gives u a heads up 2 miles away from front also back and sides. Plus when the cops point the laser at u it deflects it some yards away from u if u can find something better GET ITTT!!!!!!!
