Lower clutch engagement point?
 

My mechanic said it's possible to lower the clutch engagement point on the Z. He said something about a cable that needs to be used and that it might come equipped with the car, otherwise I'd need to buy the kit which is around $150?
Any try lowering their clutch grab point?

There is an adjustment procedure described in the service manual. I haven't tried it myself.

Download the service manual and do it yourself.. Hope that guy is not a friend

I had this done to a car in the past, but that was when putting in a new clutch...

I'm pretty sure the service manual helps you adjust the pedal box for the clutch pedal. I'm not sure what good it will do (or if you screw up, how you'd ever test it or keep yourself from stopping).

I've gotten used to the high engagement point and small engagement zone but if anything the main gripe about the clutch in the Z is that it's too high and too small. Seeing as it can hold 450-500 hp I have absolutely no complaints.

from the looks of it in the manual, it's more for adjusting the clutch release and depressed position; not really the engagement point. correct me if i'm wrong

That is the only thing that can be adjusted (it will have some effect on where you feel the take up). As the system is entirely hydraulic nothing else can be adjusted.

he's my main mechanic for everything, unless i'm one day going for a tt build or similar

you can fabricate additional stoppers that attach to the pedal stopper at the top of the pedal and move the clutch switch forward a bit. ive done this and it shortens the press a bit. i'm more inclined to tell you to get used to it though...
