350z Nismo LSD on 370
Anyone tried this? I've heard that we can bolt up a diff from a 350, I was thinking about snagging a pumpkin from a Nismo, and throwing in the Frontier 4.08's. I understand that it's a fairly aggressive LSD, but I think I could deal with it, especially since I don't really drive the Z that much, though I'd also be interested in hearing thoughts from people that have run them on 350's.

The LSD that came in the Nismo 350Z's is the same as the LSD that came in every other 350Z (except base model, which had open diff). It's a VLSD, same thing that comes in the sport package 370Z. But yes, it will work.

Others have done it already. Though...you might want to take a look into the OS Giken version. It looks like a smoother quieter LSD for everyday and track usage. Here is a thread about it: Which Diff? |

That's fine, as long as you realize that the Nismo 350Z's did not come with the Nismo LSD, they came with the same VLSD that the regular 350Z's came with. So if you buy a pumpkin off of a stock Nismo 350Z, you are not getting a Nismo LSD in it.
That being said, the Nismo LSD is getting harder to find new, though it's a pretty cheap option at around a grand. But it's a very loud LSD... most only like it if they track their car a lot (mostly drifting). For a grand you can get a Quaife, which would be better for a DD IMO as it's smooth and quiet, but still performs great for the track. |

I have an opportunity to pick up a pumpkin with the LSD already installed for well under a grand, which is why I'm considering it. It'd be a lot easier to swap pumpkins than try to drop in an aftermarket LSD into my current diff.
