Transmission Flush?
Quick ? bout tranny fluid swap, read the DIY sec, very helpful and straight forward but the 3 quarts that goes back in, is that all the fluid? There's no residuals sittin around anywhere else like in a auto tranny where they recommend a flush? Or is a flush only done on auto trannys?

Just drain the old stuff and re-fill with new. There won't a a lot of residual fluid left after about 5 minutes with the drain plug off. Whatever's left.... I wouldn't worry about.

A flush is only done on an auto. This is because the auto transmission holds onto a large amount of fluid in the torque converter.
The residual amount in the manual transmission is next to nothing. If you are on a perfectly level surface (and the car is jacked perfectly level) you can just add oil to the manual transmission fill hole until it starts to drip out.

You could drain the transmission oil cooler but I don't think you can drain the torque converter easily. They just fill with new fluid, run it through the gears so that it gets pumped through the system and the old fluid is diluted. They then drain it again and refill. They usually only call for a flush of the transmission cooler when they find wear material in the transmission fluid (clutch debris material etc).

The factory torque converter doesn't have any provision for draining the fluid. When you take the car to a shop for a flish, they fill a resivoir with clean fluid and attach that to your cooler lines. They run your car and catch your old fluid as it comes in and push in new fluid at the same time. This will get 99% of the old fluid out.

Amsoil. They just have too much data that supports they are better than the rest. No one else compares their stuff to amsoil. Amsoil compares themselves to everyone else. Putting Amsoil everything. Use to use Royal Purple and them saw it compared to amsoil. RP is just as good as catrol or mobil 1 not really better.
