Default Specs of the 3.7L VQ37VHR

Yup, these are the specs from the VQ37VHR (Infiniti G37 coupe). I have this weird gut feeling that Nissan will keep the engine almost identical. If anything, they will tweak it up a little to get maybe 335 or 340 HP. Here is a quick specs of the new VQ37VHR engine

I was hoping they could keep weight down bellow 1400 kg as handling and speed would be awesome but a 5.2 second estimated 0-100 km time is nothing to be sneezed at .

The current 350 Z weighs in at 1560 kg bit of a porker compared to my 1340 kg........... RX8

Cheers
Michael

Yes! The Z is indeed a heavy car. That's why we see many Z enthusiast who goes to track or auto crossing, change their suspension first. Even though the new Z is approximately 3135 lbs, I sure you can remove some unwanted stuff to make it lighter. Wow the Rx8 is very light at 2948 lbs. Can you imagine if one put a VQ engine from the Nissan and put in the RX8

The 370Z will definitely benefit from G37 already being released. I can wait to see this motor pushed!!

Guys I have a big question about the Z's engine..Is it fully aluminum because that is the one drawback about the Z that really strikes me..If the engine is fully aluminum, It should be lighter. I need help lightening the engine and was wondering if you guys knew the engine weight and any suggestions..I need to take weight off the front end
