Looking into getting a 370z really soon (next couple of months) and had a question. I want to upgrade the rear to a true limited slip and was wondering what the best route to take was. Can you install an upgrade in an open diff?
I just don't want to be the one-wheel-wonder when taking off quickly.... |

I bought a base with Touring just for this reason, although I will probably end up with a Quaife although I have also heard nothing but good things about the OS Giken LSD.

If you go *BASE* you're sacrificing the big brakes on the SPORT. Here's just a PARTIAL parts cost to upgrade...
Front brake rotor part number: 40206-JL00Ax2 $160 Left front caliper part number: 41001-1EA1B $250 Right front caliper part number: 41011-1EA1B $250 Front brake pads part number: D1060-JL00J $60 Front brake hardware kit (shims & spacers) part number: D1080-JL00A $44 Rear brake rotor part number: 43206-JL00Ax2 $140 Left rear caliper part number: 44011-1EA1A $270 Right rear caliper part number: 44001-1EA1A $270 Rear brake pads part number: D4060-JL00J $60 Rear brake hardware kit part number: D4080-JL00A $43 Brake booster on a SPORT part number: D7210-1ET0A $600 The total is already over $2,100 and thats not the complete parts list or INSTALL cost! The 2-pin rear final drive flanges are OEM part number: 38220-1NC0A. Others say these work with OS Giken super locker? I don't see the C-Clip on flanges like the left LSD flange for the SPORT has. This is based off the OEM parts program diagrams. Last edited by L33T Z34; 02-02-2011 at 05:49 AM. |

Just in case anyone is planning on going from the sport VLSD to an aftermarket LSD and wants to save a little cash, check this out: WTT: My Base Diff + Cash for Your Sport Diff =)

What would qualify as easy? Do you have to adjust the gear lashing at all?
