Sent a long email to Nissan they just called me back from the email and told me to take it to the dealer. I explained that the only way this is going to get fixed if Nissan steps up to the plate and adds oil cooling system to our high performance cars that we bought from them also explained my 5.6 L Titan and my 3.5 L M-35 does not overheat the oil.
So lets keep slamming them with emails and phone calls and maybe our voice will be heard !and we can all get the FACTORY OIL COOLERS needed to make are cars run COOL and don't overheat and blow engines ![]() |

I talked with folks at this number as well.. they are just $8/hr ppl working a call center... they are sub-contracted by nissan and their primary purpose is to screen in bound calls/inquiries, not resolve issues.
Nissan reads this board... this is the place to get your voice heard. In addition, re-posting coordinates if you want to write them. nissan north america inc consumer affairs po 685003 franklin, tn 37068 nnaconsumeraffairs@nissan-usa.com Finally, as mentioned previously, we need to work the press... call them |

Hello from Florida.
Temperature today was 86. I am still breaking the car, in so am keeping the revs below 4K. Oil temperarature gauge hit 260 with moderate speed on a quiet stretch of road. I am calling 800-647-7261 right now. I want an oil cooler! This forum is great. You guys kept me from wasting money on a worthless NISMO radiator cap and even though I have a set of Berk HFCs in the garage with an Invidia cat back and Status-Elite intake on the way, the car will stay stock until Nissan gets the engine heat under control. Thanks! |

I just drove my car down to GA and back (~3 hours each way) and most of the time it sat at 220, there and back, in about 85*F weather.
However, when I got into the city I kept the car more in the powerband (between 3k and 5k RPM) for more immediate power (take no prisoners city driving, it's crazy in Charlotte). After about 5 minutes of this my oil was hitting 250. Luckily I was driving right past the Nissan dealer and had them document this overheating. They were clueless of course, saying that it was a bad sensor and they had seen it before. Suuuure... So I can cruise for hours in 6th gear at 220*F, but as soon as I change gears and run at a higher RPM things start to overheat quickly. This definitely jives with the bubbling oil theory stated earlier. |

$780!!!! FOR THAT?! No...
Sorry, but Nissan should have included the oil cooler in the car to begin with. It's a $100 part in cost. It wouldn't have hurt them to add it.

New England driver so still cool outside, normally oil in low 200's, but noticed immediately after short period aggressive driving oil temp very quickly jumps up 20-30 degree's in just a couple minutes- may be a problem come summer- other than that all good

I do agree that Nissan should have included it with the car. I would have paid an extra $500 for the cooler if they had it as an option without blinking. BTW, Stillen's kit is really looking like a pretty good deal!

And while a bigger cooler can be built, obviously, this is in our opinion more than enough to handle virtually all driving needs for the 370Z, up to and including track use. It was built to spec to give maximum cooling at the lowest cost possible, utilizing a blend of super quality components like the SETRAB cooler and Goodrich stainless lines, down to the custom brackets, PS cooler relocation hardware, etc. It's nice to see the guys with the STILLEN cooler seeing the benefits after testing and hard use.. and I would anticipate additional feedback from guys soon, as I know a number are embarking on trips to the track soon.. |

If Nissan manufacturered their own oil coolers, the prices on them would have been astoundingly lower.
