Fan of Muffler Removal Exhaust

Okay for some odd reason, I removed the muffler from my 370zm just like I did with my 350z and replaced it with pipes. I have had this since 2 days after I purchased the car in September of 2009. I really haven't been happy with any exhaust system thus far but haven't heard all of them up close. I know youtube has samples but we all know how sound can be different then up close listening.....so i was thinking of just asking via forum post.

What exhaust system is relativity similar to the muffler delete exhaust "yea I created a name for this popular setup lol I am trying to achieve depth and nice sound. I am not looking for anything with a raspy sound..... Any suggestions?

Are you looking for specific power gain or do you just want the sound like a muffler delete?

I've got muffler delete pipes... I like the way mine sounds.

Although, I am going to change it soon... I want something that is going to gain power without being extremely loud.

I don't think it's that loud as is:

So what's your route next?

Carbon_z 01-17-2011 09:03 PM

i want a true exhaust system... I am leaning towards Stillen but honestly Ive never heard one "besides youtube". I want some power gain because it would be pointless otherwise and I would just keep the exhaust the way it is. I dont even know if the muffler remove hurt or helped my car lmao... more airflow but I dont think thats the key to power gain with that method :)

I think muffler delete may lose some trg..Y don't you go for a HFC instead?

Carbon_z 01-17-2011 09:25 PM

well thats my route... Getting HFC and exhaust system. I know if I get HFC with my muffler already removed its going to be LOUD AS HELL and im afraid that it would be a good loud either.

younter 01-17-2011 09:30 PM

Well..I am going for custom muffler..I already replaced new Y pipe and mid pipe..going to get the ERZ HFC..got my CAI intalled..I wonder how it sound...

I've heard a bunch and still havent heard anything better than the stillen, but its heavy.

Why dont you buy AAM muffler delete?

Carbon_z 01-24-2011 06:04 PM

didnt know that existed... or the price on it. I figured keeping cost low was important to me since I didnt want to spend too much on the deleted muffler UNLESS i was going with a real exhaust system. "which im debating on at the moment"

Nismoracer 01-24-2011 06:15 PM

You can do a muffler delete cheaper at a muffler shop than getting the aam short tails. Alot cheaper.

younter 01-24-2011 06:17 PM

AAM raised the price....a little...
