Oil Consumption: In the clear?
Hey guys,
getting just that much closer to getting the z thanks to everyone here. Is it safe to say that the vq37vhr is unaffected by the oil burning plague? Can you state how much oil you had to add at what interval if you had to even add any amt of oil? I think this will serve as a pretty good resource to everyone. Thanks. |

If i am correct only the 2006 nissan 350z had oil burning issues. I do not remember a 2007 or 2008 Z to suffer from it.
As for this engine, i am gonna assume it doesnt suffer from it(i could be wrong). What car did you hear had a oil burning issue? |

2005-2006 had the issues. 2007 HR engines haven't shown a sign of the problem. So you should be good to go.

I have added 1/2 quart at 1300 miles. The owners manual says it "normal" during break in period to burn a little oil. I guess we have to wait and see.
