Hey Sharif what did the A/F ratios look like and how much change was there if any? I realize you typically see a change when doing intake side stuff more so than with exhaust stuff but I am still curious

Wideband was not connected on these runs, due to a bad sensor.

yea my break-in took no time at all. for the first 700-800 miles i followed the manual after that I did my normal break in with progressively higher revs and engine breaking. I got the car right off the truck about 3 weeks ago with only 8 miles on it and now I am at 1500 miles I drive a lil bit... I believe the car will make more power with some more mileage on it.

That's an amzing picture! Love it.

I am shocked at the result as well but not totally surprised. VQ is an amazing engine and it clearly shows here. I am very happy to see how well it is responding to simple bolt on mods. Hats off to STILLEN and BERK for making some great products. I am pretty sure other exhausts will provide similar results as well. Also, curious to see what kind of number those exhausts will put down.

No problem at all.

And just to be crystal clear, it is not accurate to interpret the results as a before/after. They are two different cars, and we havent done a true before and after of the effects of exhaust, HFC. This was a simply a snapshop of the power these two cars were making, so it should be viewed in that context.

wow, 37 whp and around 25 wtq with just exhaust, HFC and intake... on a NA car! Outstanding! ... and the gains are all over the curve. Very nice!

I have a couple questions for semtex:

1. Any weight savings with the new set up?
2. How about noise? Is it close to stock? Any droning issues? I can't stand loud exhausts (been there done that, and don't want to come back)

serge, I suggest you check out these two threads. They include many more details including video clips so that you can hear how my car sounds for yourself.

I have since installed a new intake, and just yesterday I got more dyno results and made another video. All of this is detailed here: Install of Stillen G3 Intakes complete - review, etc.

Not that I'm all about saving fuel, but with the gains that you get from these two upgrades being so noticeably high, wouldn't you save some significant fuel?

Yep. Funny you should ask, because I just filled up and was pleasantly surprised to discover that I got 16.8mpg my last tank. That might not sound so great, but consider that I was getting around 14.7mpg before the upgrades (I have a lead foot). Also consider that I did something like 8 WOT dyno pulls on the past tank of gas, not to mention drove pretty hard for a couple of days after installing the intakes because I wanted to make sure the ECU 'learned' the new mod. All in all, when I drive around 'normally', I have to use less throttle to get the same acceleration pre-mods, hence the fuel savings.

Thank you for stating that Sharif, People are assuming these mods will yield 37 rwhp gains when you cannot compare 2 different cars.

For those that don't know, these factory ECU's are running dynamic timing maps which change and adapt over time. Car A could be running more or less timing than Car B, the A/FR will be slightly off as well. The ECU makes these adjustments based on a number of things, including how the cars are driven, temperature, altitude, etc.

Not to mention that there are a range of tolerances in O.E. engines, one might have slightly higher compression, etc. Just too many variables for these numbers to be even considered comparable.

So no, this does not prove that Still exhaust and high flow cats will yield 37RWHP gains, sorry

It does prove that Car A makes "X" amount of power more than Car B, that's about it.

Porsche hand picked the engines for the 964 variants of the Carrera Cup. The engines had to be factory issue but nobody said they couldn't take the cream of the crop out of the dyno room.
