Default Another Slave Cylinder Failure Explanation

While perusing the December Road and Track, I came across one of the Tech Correspondence (pg 120) questions about a sticky Audi TT clutch. The R/T response was to replace the brake fluid in the clutch system. R/T claims that the fluid quickly becomes water saturated and the water eventually settles at the level of the slave cylinder leading to failure. I'm not sure if this applies to us as well, but it's certainly food for thought.

Thumbs up

Most owners, take fluid flushing for granted with exception of engine oil.

Good find = rep point!

It is an interesting idea. I been my clutch every 6 months and haven't had a problem.

It's motivated me to plan on bleeding the clutch in the next week or two. Thanks for the reps
