K & N air filters.
 

Hi Friends,anybody here replaced their standard paper air filter to the K&N air filter[USA made,i think American fans known about it].

There are no gains to be had from this mod. I ran my car with the stock intakes without filters, just straight up open and there was no gain on the dyno.

Well,i am not going for power gain[Singapore has a strict speed limits of 90 km/h],the 370z has more than enough power for the road here,anyway anybody use K&N panel filters before.?

I bought and installed them on my 09 z and did not notice anything. I might be a bit louder...hard to tell. Than again a 5 hp gain would not be noticeable.

Why waste money on something that doesn't change anything about the car??? It works exactly the same with out without it...that's crazy...

Well,i am not speed manic,i bought the 370z for the style & look.

Kinda off topic, but is this your car? You're in Singapore and your Z color is yellow that's why i ask.

I have them in my Z right now. (I put them in before RCZ discovered that there's no gain.) Do you have a question about them? You know...I just ordered a new Stillen intake, so in about two weeks I'm not going to need them anymore. If you want them, you can have them. Just cover my shipping cost and they're yours.

If he doesn't want them, I'll definitely take them and cover your shipping costs.

Consider yourself to have first dibs if CCH doesn't want them.

Well,thanks for the offer,i think just put in the K&N filter will do,it will affect the warranty,if i modify to many things,even K&N air filter is not allow,but i can easily remove it,put back the paper filter before sending in the car for servicing.

Oh no worries. I sorta suspected there wouldn't be much gain anyway. Really, I got them because I have this unreasonable OCD-type prejudice about paper filters. It was one of those 'matter of principle' things. Don't ask me for the logic behind it, because there isn't any! :rofl2:

Okay, now you're REALLY confusing me. The K&N drop-in filter is what I have. It is what I am offering to send you for free after I get my new Stillen intakes installed (as long as you pay for the shipping cost). So you're saying no, you don't want them, but you'll stick with what I'm offering to send you?
