General question about coolant
 

I've noticed this ever since i bought my car new and was just wondering if this is normal for everyone. The car's coolant gage always reads normal about
3/4 the way across,what an eye sore.anyway to the point. from a cold start it only takes about a quarter mile to reach that which seems fast to me.
does the coolant system really warm up the fast.

Yep, the coolant temp guage is pretty much worthless...

The only way i would really say to be able to test it is with a thermometer gun.... commonly found with Nitro remote control products for the engine.

Thanks wasn't really what i was worried about. it gets to a certain point which is about 3/4's over to the right or about 8to9 dots!!!!!!:rofl2:

but it gets there very quickly,less than a quarter mile.
oh well i guess that means the heater will warm up faster on those winter days!

the dots are cool, but some real gauges would have been nice.
