I think it is something with the input shaft rattling according to the 350 guys. Of course it sounds like a throw out bearing to me. It is annoying.

I pulled up to my friendly Dunkin Donuts drive thru the other day and was sitting there enjoying my marbles inside my tranny (Sounds like it to me). I raised the idle a bit (100 rpm maybe) and it went away. Hmmm I thought. I'm not really a fan of these trannys but si far so good. I just try to ignore the noises................ I said "try".

Previously when driving in garage after a drive, I noticed a sound like coolant boiling over into the overflow resevoir you get from heat picking up since you came to a stop. I usually have the radio on so I sort of ignored it. Yesterday I noticed I could feel it in the clutch pedal, then I noticed the noise went away if I let off clutch and put it in nuetral. I guess this is what the rest of you guys call the clutch rattle? I hate it when you take something to the dealer and they say they don't hear it or " Oh, that's normal" I was thinking about taking it in, now it seems this is normal

So I sat in another forum member's car the other day......he has the rattle as well...just not as bad as mine. He bled his clutch fluid because he suspected air was in there.
I'm not sure if this helps, but has anyone else bled their clutch to see if it made a difference? |

This z is no different from any other z.. Guys with z32s,z31s these things can be a bit womanish from time to time... But like all z's once u get them down... Well that's why u can't have just one
Just gotta roll with the punches and if u take care of her she'll take care of you. |

I feel it as well... not to mention my throw out bearing seems to be making more noise than normal. It only has 14k miles on it so far and the sound seems to go away when I press the clutch down.
When driving the car at low speeds it also tends to make a clunking sound. I don't think its anything serious, could just be the bearings that are used in the clutch kits, but I find it a little loud for a new car. This may be related to the CMC issue I read about on here. Failing or weak CMCs could be wearing out the other clutch components faster than normal... I don't think that is going to affect the TOB but hey, you never know. ;-) |
