1st gear clutch?
I am nub... I admit... So I need your guys expertise =)
Does this happen to you guys as well? I am in a parking lot. I am at a stop. Now I am slowing driving and I am in first gear. Now I am about to shift into 2nd gear and at the same its around at 3000 rpm (1st gear) and now i press the clutch all the way (so that I can shift into 2nd gear) and then sometimes I can feel my car like slamming against something. Like it happens randomly. I don't know what causes it. I know for a fact that its probably the way I drive. So anyone noticed this too? Like every time this happens me and the passenger jerk. This only happens when I am trying to go from 1st to 2nd gear. Happens when I press the clutch all the way. HELP~~~;; =( |

You probably tend to clutch out too quickly. If you do that the car will be jerky. Try releasing the clutch gently after sticking it into gear. If you clutched out too slow or kept your foot in the clutch you'd over rev and stand still. It must be because of your clutch foot work not being smooth enough.

The problem isn't when I am shifting to 2nd gear its right in between. The moment I press the clutch the car kinda slams. Like I thought at first I was just bad at shifting so tested. While driving in first and i just press the clutch when it was at 3000rpm to see what happens and it slams. Like as if I am driving in fifth gear and slamming the clutch.

So my question is then... when in first gear at 3000 rpm when u press the clutch u shouldn't really feel slamming... right? Like if you just press it and not let go... shouldn't feel any slamming sensation... right?! |

are you letting the gas off before pushing the clutch in? your timing may be bad with that. try it again but instead of pushing the clutch in, accelerate to 3000 and just let the gas off suddenly like would be shifting. You may be starting to engine brake before you are pushing the clutch in. you should let off the gas when the clutch is at its release point not when u start pushing the clutch in. if it feels the same as accelerating to 3000 and just taking your foot off the gas this is your problem. Is this your first manual car because my sister did this when i was teaching her in my beater?

i said to take your foot off the gas without pushing hte clutch just to see if that was the same feeling. Eventually your timing and feel will get better and you will be taking your foot off the gas at the exact moment the clutch releases which is the goal.

i dun understand. I tried its like on off thingy... sometimes it slamms and sometimes it doesnt... anyone have the same problems?
also when it slams... it feels though as the clutch is really tightly stuck in 1st gear and going to 2nd gear feels much stiffer... |

i find the shifter in this car is hard to get into second gear anyway so that doesn't help. point being if it slams you are letting off the gas too early <--- If that and practice don't solve it have a friend that knows how to drive a manual go for a ride with you and ask them their thoughts.
