7000 miles? that sounds pretty ridiculous. With synthetic i wouldnt even change it at 7000. I couldnt tell you how to find out if it came with it or not, but as far as changing it i would change it pretty often if your gna keep using the ester oil. Id say around 3000

Really? Why? The owner's manual states you can go 7500 miles on dino. I'm sure the Nissan engine design engineers are far more knowledgeable with the maintenance requirements of this engine than any forum members. As for the factory fill, the OM states to leave it in until the first oil change is due. I did. My car is working perfect. Btw, I change my oil, M1, at 7500 mile intervals.

^ if that were the case there also would not be an oil consumption tsb out for the g37s... I would change and if not that at least check my oil frequently. This motor likes to drink oil.

yes, it came with Nissan's Ester Oil. They developed this dino oil specifically for this engine. I change every two track days, so its fairly often, and its debatable whether or not you should keep with the Ester or switch to Mobil 1, but for my peace of mind, I stick with it. I figure Nissan wouldn't go to the trouble of developing and patenting their own special oil for the car if it didn't have a reason to.

It says you can go up to 7500 miles. Ive never heard of anyone taking dino oil up to that point. You should read his other thread. Im not saying your wrong and Im right, but taking dino up to 7500 miles has its potential risks. Even when you get synthetic oils its usually changed around 5000. Just my 2cents

Your 370Z should have come with a separate "Service and Maintenance Guide" that shows all the recommended oil changes. The first one is at 3750 miles; the second at 7500 miles.

The manual recommends changing every 3750 for most drivers (i.e., stop and go driving).

Truthfully, longer intervals are probably fine, but shorter ones are overkill unless you tracking the car pretty hard or are boosted.
