I think he means if one is crossing the tracks slowly. I suppose if the clutch happens to fail at that exact moment there is possibility of the car stalling.

pretty sure this just happened to me last night. went to clutch in from a stop at a red light and clutch went right to the floor. was barely able to get going. luckily i was very close to home and managed to limp my way there. when i finally got home, i couldn't get in any gear and my neighbor thankfully helped me push my car into the parking spot.
ill have to get it towed somewhere to get fixed now... 2011 with just over 38k miles. edit: had it towed to a local shop, who flushed and replaced the clutch fluid with dot 4 brake fluid. seemed to be working ok for the last few days, but clutch started acting wonky again today after a long drive. thinking i'll take it back and just get the csc replaced.

My csc failed on my 2016 at 11K miles. Never driven hard, never burnout.
happenned suddenly, clutch remained floored. got it towed to nissan who confirm CSC and replaced everything with a new csc (that will prob break again) under warrenty. car feels like new now. lost it for 3 day while they worked on it. |

Hi everyone,
This is my first time posting here. I bought my first car a 2015 370z Nismo a month back with 35k miles on it. I did a full pre-purchase inspection on the car and it was perfect. However, for the past two days, I noticed when I drive the car hard after a while when I hit around 5k rpm and try to shift the clutch becomes very light. It doesn't get stuck or anything, it just becomes super light to press. When I go back under 4k rpm the clutch pressure returns to normal. I feel like this isn't normal. Is my CSC failing? I think I might take the car tomorrow to change the clutch fluid and see if that helps. |

2nd failure on my 2016 Nismo Tech. This time at about 23,000 miles. Replaced under warranty and gave me a loaner (Altima). Inspection notes warped seals. Doesn't appear they used GTR fluid this time. :\

Picked up my car from the dealer with new CSC, GTR fluid and clutch assembly, but they didn't replace the CMC.
Clutch was feeling great on the drive home, but the clutch pedal got stuck to the floor after 20 min of driving. Luckily this happened after I was engaged to first, so I was able pull over. I pulled the clutch pedal back up with my foot and it seemed to gain pressure again. This happened once more on my drive back to the dealer. Each time I pulled the clutch pedal out, it seem to be OK. Could this be CMC issue or air bubbles in the clutch line? It was a warmer day at +80F. Initially, the clutch pedal was very eager to come back to top and it got softer as the drive progressed. |

It's typically $1200 and up for parts and labor for both.

I brought my Z into the Nissan Stealership with the symptoms of a failed CSC and they just bled the system, test drove it and said it was good to go. I went to pick it up the next day, paid $230 and while waiting they came around and said they couldnt get it into gear. Shifted perfectly before, just lost pressure one day. Could still shift just a low engagement point, 20% maybe? Well they "didnt get around to it" the next day, so the following day they call me and tell me my "clutch spring" is bad and id need to pay $1600 to have them change the clutch and flywheel. WHAT? Am i being scammed or what? Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply. I just need to know im not crazy for thinking this because thats how they're making it sound. I'm trying to get them to fix it since it was "shifting perfectly" when I PAID FOR IT. So if they are lying, atleast i can get my car back in working condition without having to pay $1600 for a clutch i don't need.
