I was told by my mechanic the z1 elimination csc kit was the best but its expensive/ hard to install

Does that change clutch feel at all? Also I think I remember reading something about the csc elimination kit having some issues with vertical clutch/flywheel combos?

I would imagine its the same feel, the kit comes with a selection of clutches that are compatible too

Dropping the transmission is by no means an easy job, but the Z1 CSCEK install is no more difficult than a clutch install (it is easier, actually). I would venture a guess that your mechanic is incompetent

I did the install with the help of a more mechanically inclined friend than myself along with a $120 transmission jack from Harbor Freight that I'll never use again. Neither one of us had ever dropped a transmission before, but he was confident and took the lead. We did it on jack stands in my garage with both our tools over the course of a weekend (two full days). Had it installed and test driven and adjusted by 7 pm on Sunday evening.

I wouldn't want to do it again, but if we had to I bet we could shave 4 hours or more off the time it took us initially.

I think I'm going to be added to this list as well. Driving down the interstate last night I lost clutch pressure and had to bring the pedal up myself once. Taking the car to the dealership tomorrow to find out what's up. I'm at 41.5k miles not really ready to spend over $1k for this because of a crappy design.

Welcome to the club! Expect them to switch out to gtr fluid, make you feel better and then get ready for a tow truck. I'd add roadside or AAA tomorrow

They didn't find any leaks and recommended I go with the GTR fluid flush. I did that but could tell the clutch pedal still felt weak when pushing it in a few times on the ride home though not like it was before the fluid flush. Was there a recommended interval to flush the clutch? I don't recall seeing that in the service interval but it does use dot3 brake fluid which is recommended for replacement every 2 years or so on the brakes. And the service advisor said it may be covered by the 5/60k powertrain depending on what they find once the tranny is opened but that is $800+.

This is a band aid. You WILL have problems in the future and the anxiety of being stranded. Sorry to put it this way but you need an HD Zspeed CSC and a new OEM CMC + new fluids.

If Nissan does not fix this crap I may have to hold of driving my Z and trading it in for the up coming Mazda RX9(yes the rotary will be back). I have 18k currently on my z my previous 07hr z clutch gave out at 38k.

They aren't going to fix it. The same issue has been happening for years with no action from them. It ain't going to change now.

i say we should go on facebook and flood their page on there every day till they do something about it. doesn't take but a minute to write and post. we should also try getting our local news station involved. until you make a movement this won't be addressed or fixed. with all the recalls going on now, this would be the perfect time to create a storm

I always post something pertaining to the CSC every time they mention the 370z... I see a few other people doing it too from time to time.
