I know you said you haven't installed your clutch/flywheel yet, but I'm assuming you will get chatter with a lighter flywheel?
I had a stage 2 clutch/flywheel on my Genesis Coupe a couple years ago and it chattered a lot at idle...
You can get the quiet disc option for your flywheel, and Joe from Zspeed said, the fluid (MT-85) that you use plays a HUGE role in reducing the chatter too, so I figured if I did both options it would reduce the chatter thats normally heard..

Clutch Type: OEM

Summary:
- Around 04/15, After work I stopped at red light that was at a decent incline that goes over the freeway, I got going and the clutch pedal didn't pop back up immediately. It just revved until it grabbed... I got to my destination which was about a mile away and left it for a few hours. Drove fine after...
-06/06/15 Drove 60 miles to go on a date... Picked up my date and got about 2 miles down and noticed the clutch pedal wasn't coming back up more than an inch... It was just enough to get it to go but it stalled several times before that. 1st and 2nd gear wasn't easy to get in to... Got it to a parking lot and called "AAA" waited 2.5 hours and the date was ruined. As we pushed it back to get it on the tow truck I noticed oil on the ground.

Conclusion:
6/14 Confirmed the clutch slave cylinder is the cause, Carmax's warranty approved of the repair to the tune of $760 using OEM parts... I should be getting it back later on today.
6/17 Complaint filed on the NHTSA website where several other complaints from people explain the same issue along with the common steering lock failure.
Updated... Confirmed it was the clutch slave cylinder.

Can you tell me what your quote was? Can you ask him if we both had this work done, would they cut us a better deal?

Sorry it depresses you. "Tip For The Day"- check your clutch fluid level at least every other Fill-up. If it gets low it could be symptoms of CSC Failure. Don't get stranded like so many of us have & required to be towed!

2009 370z with 67k miles.

Master and Slave cylinders were replaced at 30k miles under warranty. ECM replaced as well in that time. Guess what? My clutch pedal only returns 40% of the way. I will never buy another Nissan again and will make sure my friends and family are aware of how unreliable their cars are. This includes "premium" models as well. I was considering upgrading to the GTR but not after this.

Does anyone know if Nissan has ever made any "official" statements about the CSC failures that so many of us have experienced? Or is trying to get a answer from them like Beating a Dead Horse?

It's only been a couple of weeks, but after reading some of the newer posts in this thread I think I'm glad I went for the clutch assembly replacement. Everything feels great (knock on wood), I'm used to the slightly heavier pedal, and most of the new noises have gone away. What's left now is some transmission noise in first and second, but the mechanic thinks that's likely because they upgraded my transmission fluid and it's thinner than what Nissan originally had in there. He said if the noise really bothers me he can put thicker fluid back in and see if it helps. I'll wait another week and see how much it still bothers me (it's a light grinding/scraping sound; right now I'm leaning toward having him swap out the fluid).

I had an '02 Nissan Sentra -- manual, base trimline, all stock -- for four years and I never had a single problem. I even bought it used (in '04), and tracked it once (don't laugh!). The good experience I had with that car was part of why I didn't hesitate to buy my Z in late 2013. It's been a series of disappointments with this car, though: first the known track issues (oil/brake overheating), now the clutch issues.
