I remember seeing a revised Nissan OEM CSC, but when did they start putting them on their cars?

Bump for this, my car is in the shop right now for these same reasons. Mechanic says it's the slave cylinder. We have to order the part since we're on Guam and after what I've been reading in this thread, should I tell him to go ahead and order and replace the master cylinder as well while he's at it?

40k Miles 09 370z

Clutch Pedal stuck to the floor, towed to the dealer. Dealer wants 1600 to replace the clutch assembly and are checking out the slave cylinder and flywheel. I have the extended waranty.

After reading all this I wonder if my cluch assembly even needs replacement and I just need the Master/slave cylinder replaced. ( I don't know much about cars)

Unless it's had a lot of hard driving the clutch disc itself is likely fine, however since you have to drop the transmission to get to the CSC it's an opportune time to consider replacement at a reduced labor rate since the warranty will pay for the CSC replacement and the labor to drop/install the transmission. The price he's given you so far certainly isn't discounted

this was one of my fears when i traded in 2011 Z 7sp auto for a 2012 6sd man. I've heard many horror stories about the clutch and csc failures. Great info from all. Planning to install a ACT clutch from stillen.

Loss of clutch hydraulic pressure occurred on my way home from vacation. Eastbound on I-40, east of OKC, the pedal went all the way to the floor. Eventually got of the road and was somewhat able to pump up the clutch using my hand, since the pedal wouldn't return on its own. No signs of fluid loss, reservoir full. Limped on home, periodically having to take the car out of gear to pump up the clutch again. Got the car to the dealer with 35.5 k miles on the odo.I suggested they try bleeding the system first, but they went ahead and ordered the CSC, master cylinder, and tube; they must already have a service bulletin or something.

Next week we will see...
All mine needed was the clutch master cylinder (cmc). 1k + mi on cmc and no worries. Wonder why dealers are replacing the csc if it might just be the cmc. Warranty $$ maybe....unless as someone previously stated the clutch is being thrashed.

All good here, but will keep a foot out for csc.

Update: I recently posted in here believing I had this issue but I just pumped in and replaced my clutch fluid and haven't had one single issue since then.

Before changing fluids the pedal was squishy after 30min of highway 80mph driving, just cruising. Now the pedal remains consistent no matter how hard I push the car

Some of you lurkers may want to swap your clutch fluids BEFORE you have these issues. I had the same symptoms and perhaps I fixed the issue before it became a CSC failure. .....I hope.

^ I agree, although my clutch fluid was still the initial fill at factory 2009 with 42k miles. I imagine the dealer would have performed this IF they diagnosed it was just a fluid swap.

Best to get them to replace the cmc while it's still under warranty...imo

Last Thursday I was on my way home from knotts when I went to downshift for traffic and the pedal went to the floor. Dropped it off at the dealer today. What annoys me the most is that I'm 19 and they guy didn't seem to take me seriously. Hopefully they figure out whats wrong. I'm also worried if it'll be covered under warranty

After having the CMC and CSC replaced under warranty, the clutch feels better than when the car was new!
