My clakked out POS CSC...

Replaced with ZI HD CSC as well and new lines, master, flywheel and clutch. It's like night and day. So much better!

Out of curiosity, what exactly is better? What has improved for your driving experience?

You bought the ZSpeed HD CSC or the Z1 Elimination Kit?

The pedal feel is stiffer. Before the pedal was very easy to press to the floor...it didn't flop, but there wasn't a lot of resistance. Also the engagement point was very low, towards the bottom of the pedal and the engagement area was fairly wide. Now, engagement is more towards the middle and the area of engagement is much smaller. This was the original clutch with 70k miles on it as well.

I noticed the same thing, with the clutch being stiffer.

I've been reading this thread all my 20K miles I've driven my Z and I may have missed the answer but has anyone had Nissan pay for this under warranty?...or as a preventive maintenance?....

JARblue 11-16-2015 08:51 AM

Lots of people have had the dealer cover it. If you're "lucky" enough for it to fail before 3 years or 36K miles, then the dealer covers it. Otherwise, you're on your own.

I replaced mine as preventative maintenance. I had 51K miles on the stock CSC (still good) when I installed the Z1 kit. I did the install in my garage on jack stands; I didn't have any issues, but I don't recommend it.

Also covered if you have the extended warranty.

My car is at service center. Nissan consumer affairs told me they never heard about CSC problem with 370z. So angry about their ignorance. Someone profit-smart guy decided to deal with each CSC-buddy individually despite Nissan reputation. I wanna make a single page website and warn new Z buyers about CSC problem and how Nissan USA deals with it. Long live the Z!

I will make this page, combining all condensed info on CSC failures and Nissan responses.
For those who loves Z but not satisfied with US service please welcome your ideas.
