Advice for those who has not experienced it or for anyone for that matter, have a bungee cord ready in your trunk. It will save you grief and get you to the shop/dealership safely.

That doesn't sound like quite the the same problem.. When the CSC goes, there's no way to disengage the clutch no matter what position the pedal is in, so you can't shift normally. (can still clutchless shift, and start moving in 1st with the starter motor)

Hey guys my car is 2009 at 16k. Should I replace the CMC as well while I have the transmission dropped? And if i do replace it, do you recommend I get an OEM or is there a better aftermarket one?

Zbrah 11-07-2015 06:23 PM

For the 10,000th times, replace CMC, and there are no aftermarket CMC only oem. Good luck.

You don't need to drop the transmission to replace the CMC, just need to open the hood.

The struggle continued for 7.5 miles. :shakes head: The bungee saved me.

That's cool that it saved you :) do you have the details back yet / confirmed that it was the CSC?

CSC replaced. Engagement was about 2 inches. Not going with OEM after 2 failures.

Wow, sorry to hear that Raf. I didn't catch it but which kit are you putting in this time and are you going to replace the CMC too?

OptionZero 11-08-2015 03:39 PM

I just picked up a 2015 Nismo w/ 21k miles on it. Clutch is fine now, but as a preventative measure i want to replace the CSC with the Zspeed unit

Has anyone who's used that had any issues with their dealer for any other warranty work?
As i understand it, the Zspeed unit is basically the same as stock but with better materials

Just curious. Everyone that has had their CSC replaced, how hard do you drive your car? What's daily driving conditions? Mostly city, freeway or weekend track car?

BamBamZ 11-10-2015 04:03 PM

freeway/city mixed... Not hard at all. I never launched or drove the replaced CSC hard in fear it would fail... it still failed.

Thanks David. Replaced it with a Tilton slave. It came with Specialty Z's clutch and flywheel combo. Master was in excellent shape. I knew sometime in July that it was going to fail a 2nd time and planned for its failure in September but lasted 'til Nov.

CSC failed after 3000 miles I purchased the car from official Nissan dealership. California regional Nissan representative didn't approve warranty repairing and said he hears about such problem for first time! What a shame!

Sounds good Raf. I'm interested in hearing your feed back on this set up after you break it in:tup:

After reading this thread I was so pissed, Nissan told me they never heard about CSC problem with 370z. So angry about their ignorance. This pic of my Z will help them increase sales!https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/1K...=w1514-h911-no
