The service writer told me that the CSC failure is covered under power train so you should still be under warranty correct? |
Ended up negotiating them down to $550 for the part and labor. My warranty is expired, but since it is only 3 months past and only 21000 miles, they cut a deal.
Now that it is replaced, the clutch feels better than it ever did even when the car was new. Clutch pressure always felt like a bit too much before and engage points were weird, now it's a bit lighter and shifts from 1st to 2nd are now spot on - no more jerky, shifts... always smooth now unless the operator (me) screws up. It's actually even more fun to drive now. |
Year 2011
vin 552221 mileage 6200 it happened two days ago cruising at about 40mph. glad i could get help and info from thia forum. seriously. yes i drive the car hard and track it but this car is met to be driven like this imo. i can understand this problem more than the oil temps being too high. anyone tried any aftermarket csc? |
VIN: (i'll post that later
Purchase Date: 01/31/2010 Occurrence Date: 08/07/2012 Occurrence Mileage: 36,000 Clutch Type: OEM I took it to the Dublin, Ca Nissan Dealership this morning and I just got the call back from them telling me they couldn't figure out what the problem was and that they had to have a Nissan Rep come out to take a look. I don't understand why a Nissan Dealership needs a Nissan Rep to come out and take a look at my clutch but I'm hoping this gets resolved tomorrow. I'll update as I learn more. UPDATE 8/9/12: Just got the call from Nissan. My master and slave clutch cylinders both failed, they wont have the parts until Monday or Tuesday so I get to keep the Sentra till then. All will be covered under warranty so that's some good news. |
Ordered the ZSP Heavy duty cylinder. lets see how it works.

My engagement point and pedal pressure has been consistent for the past few months regardless of temperature. Before it was all over the place. |
Are you guys taking in your Z with aftermarket parts on the car? After driving on the interstate for 30min my clutch is really soft and engages about 1" off the floor and I need to take it in. I have 37,500 miles on the car.

I'm all turbo'd and still take it in. They love my car lol.

So add another one to the list...
2011 Nismo I just encountered this issue yesterday. Clutch traveled halfway before engaging. Later on the highway, the problem got worse and the clutch had to be pressed to the floor to change gears. Occasionally, it would also get stuck and I had to pry it back with my foot. The problem seems to be intermittent for now but I took it straight to the dealer. They drove it and said they couldn't find anything wrong. They kept the car for a day and gave me a Versa for a loaner (ugh). Dealer called today and mentioned that the car is fine and that it is most likely a heat soak issue. Thanks for the posts and comments in this thread cause I'm headed there tomorrow with proof in hand and a demand to inspect the car more thoroughly. |
Mine is in the shop ATM still being inspected. I have 123 miles left on my warranty and awaiting if everything is gonna get covered. This happened while I was going to canibeatxhellaflush this weekend and couldnt show. :shakes head: PITA as its my only car. If I went to the show I wouldve been real close to being over the 36000mi warranty. Was at the toll road and forgot i was in gear and let go of the clutch. Gave it gas to save it from stalling and was able to keep going but noticed a squishy pedal and eventually the next morning could not put it in gear. Well see what they say. No fluid in the res.

Finally got my car back. Seems at times the symptoms are still present. Im hoping theyre just air bubbles working their way out of the lines. Time will tell. The dealer is aware.
