That took a long *** time to compile...

for EVERYONE that has experienced or even are concerned for yours to go out give Nissan North America a ring and tell the rep you're issues or concerns. 1-800-NISSAN-1

That is what I did [I am just concerned now it hasn't failed yet (knock on wood)] Count me in in that list.

Won't hurt anything to use the GTR fluid, We have been using Motul RBF-600 with good results also.

This is what I use also.

370Z Clutch Slave Cylinder Complaint to NHTSA

I filed my CSC Failure complaint here: (easy, only took about 5 mins)

https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/Vehicl...nt/index.xhtml Conf. No. (ODI) 10726352

I know this has been said before, but if there's any chance of forcing Nissan to take responsibility for this problem then a lot of us are going to have to complain where it could do some good.

My symptoms were: Clutch pedal occasionally sticking to floor on a warm day with engine hot and running hard. It never did leak fluid and I could pop the clutch pedal back up easily with my toe. It would work normally after it cooled a bit.

Fix: Installed the Zspeed HD CSC improved slave cylinder (along with a whole new clutch 'n flywheel).

P.S. Thanks BamBam !

That's true... Maybe should start a petition and try and get it to pass around on other forums and sites like autoblog or jalopnik... The G37's and newer 350Z's (i'm assuming G35's too) had/have this issue and in 2008 they actually did a recall for the 350Z to replace the clutch slave cylinder

Recall on slave cylinder - MY350Z.COM Forums

I guarantee there are many others who had issues that aren't even "on" forums. But if we raise enough noise & post in many other forums, when people decide to Google "350Z CLUTCH Problems" or "370Z CLUTCH Problems", our posts & forums will appear. Try it, Google anything about 370 Z and odds are you will be referred to this forum. What other Nissan vehicles use this same CSC? If there are any, reference them also so as to get more info out there on Nissan's cheap CSC.

Any of you guys thought about going to your local news affiliate? I mean this is pretty serious, and here you have Nissan tap dancing, I say the hell with calling 1800 Nissan, let the news MAKE them do something about it.. Like chevrolet, and the air bag recall.

Well take a "page out of my play book". Like many who attend car meets/shows who have a sign displayed of mods/dyno runs of their car, I also intend to have a sign of CSC failure. I'm including complaints (emails) to Nissan I have sent with Nissan replies, pics of my Z being towed, its exhaust/transmission being taken out, copies of invoices showing costs(labor, Tow, parts). I will post this at every Nissan dealership car show/meet I attend as well as all " Z DAY" functions, and other such events. Then I will take photos of my vehicle being display this way at these events and post them online as well as forward them to Nissan.

Wonder how long before we have a 2016 up there.

When do they 2016's get released? Estimate about a month after that.

Oh no ,, a Kia RIO? Seriously? That is just Wrong on so many levels.

It's only been a couple of weeks, but after reading some of the newer posts in this thread I think I'm glad I went for the clutch assembly replacement. Everything feels great (knock on wood), I'm used to the slightly heavier pedal, and most of the new noises have gone away. What's left now is some transmission noise in first and second, but the mechanic thinks that's likely because they upgraded my transmission fluid and it's thinner than what Nissan originally had in there. He said if the noise really bothers me he can put thicker fluid back in and see if it helps. I'll wait another week and see how much it still bothers me (it's a light grinding/scraping sound; right now I'm leaning toward having him swap out the fluid).

I had an '02 Nissan Sentra -- manual, base trimline, all stock -- for four years and I never had a single problem. I even bought it used (in '04), and tracked it once (don't laugh!). The good experience I had with that car was part of why I didn't hesitate to buy my Z in late 2013. It's been a series of disappointments with this car, though: first the known track issues (oil/brake overheating), now the clutch issues.

I was in the market for a Sentra SE-R around that time but ended up getting the GXE (new high school grad at the time). I recall my decision being swayed based on the numerous transmission issues reported between 2003-2004. I should have extrapolated correctly and assumed that other models would be plagued by transmission/clutch/clutch assembly issues. Lesson learned.

I didn't do an elimination kit, I had the entire clutch assembly replaced.

I sure Nissan knows about the issue though because there's a TSB out saying to "flush and replace with GTR R35 brake fluid" if the clutch fluid drains and the pedal goes to the floor.. So it's not a recall but if they see the issue that's what they are supposed to do.. except that won't fix the issue.

With my car, when the shop called Nissan they were told "when the TSB doesn't work we've started recommending replacing the entire clutch assembly." Cheap, lazy bastards...

That's why I think we should get this stuff out all over the social media outlets first. It's easier because the more attention we can drum up online the press are more inclined to talk about it.

Zbrah 06-24-2015 04:40 PM

Just put in my complaint on nhtsa. OID number 10730187 :tiphat:

Waiting my post to get approved then post it on Nissan's fb. Don't know how to use tweeters =\

C'mon folks. We need more!
