Not sure if this is the right thread for this, but my clutch failed out on me again. This time they said they called the nissan tech line and they are replacing the line that goes between the slave and master cylinders (clutchline) then theyre going to bleed and see what happens. Anyone else have a similar story?

Was the CMC replaced the last time they did the CSC? If not, that likely your culprit. If so, one or the other may have failed again. It wouldn't be the first time.

This is the third time its been to the dealer. The first time was for the CSC and they didnt replace the CMC. the second time was like 8 months later for the CMC and they replaced that first, said it wasnt holding pressure right, then replaced the CSC again and said it was being right but they bled the system and it was good. A month later (last sunday) the clutch bottomed out on me again and now theyre replacing the clutchline.

The dealer is Mossy Nissan Kearny Messa, and I only paid for the initial replace of the parts, so one slave and one master. After that whatever they replace is covered under their parts warranty. And they arent charging me for the clutchline.

If you're not having warranty stuff done, I recommend not using a Nissan dealer for the work. I've heard H&R is good for body stuff. I like Austin Z Clinic for mechanical stuff.

Highly unlikely if they are doing warranty work with they install a non OEM replacement. When the dealer replaced my CSC I had to jump thru hopes to get them to use the synthetic fluid I brought them over Nissan fluid. |

This is in Cali. And this dealer might do it, the first time they had to do the csc they asked me if i had any clutch or anything I wanted to put in since they were gonna have the tranny down.

Has nissan upgraded this in any way with the newer models or is this still an issue even on the '15s? Asked my shop and he said the newer models shouldn't have this problem, but I'm a bit wary of it. Figure they fixed the oil temp issue, why not this, but I could be wrong.

I don't know of any upgrades. This problem has been going on since the 350/G35 days when they went to this design. |

I just completed a Nissan owner survey and made several notes related to this issue.
1-they should be using a higher quality part 2-they shouldn't make owners w warranties jump through hoops to get it replaced. Smh.

Considering how wide spread this problem is, I'm surprised nissan hasn't issued a proper fix for this. I hope anyone that experiences this issue logs a complaint with the ntsb. Most definitely a safety issue. Not a question of if it'll fail but when.
For those who've experienced the failure, does the fluid leaking from the slave ever reach the friction disc? If it does, good way to force a clutch replacement under warranty (assuming the csc fails while still covered).
