ive never heard of a dealer putting on none OEM parts for the tranny or hydrolic system. be cool if they do though!

Bananaz 01-28-2014 12:59 PM

Highly doubt they would because if that part fails they are not liable for it.

Here's the kicker of that whole definition as was told to me in the last meeting we had. Since Nissan is aware of this issue, the CSC falls now under the base 3/36 warranty and so those which are outside this, Mine (38K) miles , and being rebuilt 2x already now, it falls to my Aftermarket MPP Warranty which i purchased with the car when i bought it. Thus now, allows them to buy and replace with any parts suitable and warrantable by the MPP company we have approval for. Correct in your statements if its' under their Nissan OEM 3/36 warranty then yes, OEM would be the only way they would go. However as I have been informed that its now not part of the 5/60K warranty powertrain (not sure how much I believe in that) but i got the phone call from MPP saying they would approve the repairs and rebuild. So we will see i guess. If they don't fix it correct this time and it goes out again, I'm going to another dealership.

There is a TSB as I had mine replaced with 1,200 miles on the car and the service manager told me as much. They couldn't replicate the issue but replaced it since there was a TSB. Not sure what the number is though but you can probably google it and find a list for everything for your year model.

Can someone else please verify/confirm this as well? What does it cover? Just transmission oil?

What's interesting in more information that I received lately from another Nissan source was that in the Powertrain warranty it's for Transmission - All fluid and mechanical working parts within the transmission. Which means since the clutch is on the outside of the transmission, it according to this source, falls in the 3/36 and not the 5/60 warranty. Got to love BS small writing. Either way it's covered under the TSB that is listed above :

NICE! but not a Csc as a csc is a concentric slave cylinder. This would just be a slave cylinder. a better option in my opinion. This slave will utilize the traditional cylinder fork and throwout bearing. Not quite as neat as the concentric slave option but certainly not less reliable.

mine was replaced under warranty at 24k miles. im at 62k now and the fluid looks horrible and i hear a little "hoot" sound when i press the clutch in. i took as much fluid out of the resivor and filled with new fluid but im sure she is doomed soon again.....

wait, is this during shifts? sometimes during a shift ill hear a "hoot" sound after an upshift. was thinking it might be air. if its the damn CSC i will strangle someone. damn car!!!

fuct 01-30-2014 04:03 PM

my "hoot" sound (like a baby owl) is during the first few inches of travel on the clutch pedal.

i also hear a nasty sound during extremely cold starts in the morning. i have no idea what that sound is.... :/
