Right before I pulled away I actually did kinda slam/push the clutch in really hard and fast because I had to stop quickly. Could that have caused it also? It feels perfectly fine today, haven't had problems since.

We are currently testing our new Clutch Master Cylinder for the 370Z and G37 to prevent this problem in the future. |

Mine went south 2 weeks ago ( 12243 mikes). Car was stock up to 9445 miles, supercharged right after and upgrade the stock clutch to Exedy stage 2 and fly wheel at 11200 miles, then in just 1000 miles the stock CSC fails..
I ordered the Z Speed Performance unit and it seems to be a very nice strong upgrade. Time will tell. |

Update to my #300 post
VIN: 553000
Purchase Date: June 2011 1st failure- Aug 2013- final "STF" (Stick To Floor) 10/16/13 Occurrence Mileage: 32,000 Clutch Type: OEM Update: Last week (Jan 2014) at 34,350mi. pedal started to get mushy and not returning. Limped it to Baker Nissan (awesome service) where I explained what it was doing and that TSB was done in Aug. They simply said they will take a look and fix the problem and gave me a free rental car. They called me the same day to report the CSC is leaking and it will be replaced. Once they replaced CSC and test drove car the Master was not pressuring the system so it was replaced as well. Glad I did not have to get towed and it was a painless experience with dealer to replace under warranty which expires in 1,500mi and I opted out of extended warranty. I will replace next failure with Zspeed and tell everyone Nissan clutch systems are weak until Nissan addresses. Thank You Baker Nissan for not making me have a horror story like others on here. |
VIN: BM554556
Purchase Date: Oct 2013 1st failure- Nov 30, 2013- final "STF" (Stick To Floor) 11/30/2013 @ 1:27PM CST Occurrence Mileage: 37K Miles Clutch Type: OEM 2nd Occurance: Just 45 days after Replacement of Slave Cylinder and fluid - Bell housing leaking also. 1/19/2014 HWY 635 - Dallas Near Addison and NDTollway Update: ON the way back from old apartment in a last final trip, clutch dropped to the floor only 45 days after being fully replaced by Trophy Nissan in Dallas. To say I am pissed and livid is an understatement at the moment. To make matters worse, they still owe us parts from WE OWE when we bought the car. TOP off matters , on the last time we were in we found out the car was in for this same issue just a month earlier in which they said it had been fixed then also. SO that would make for time 1 prior to us buying the car (upon trade in as the Service manager told us), 11/30 the time we brought it in, making time number 2, and now time number 3 which is 1/19/2014. This is a Effing nightmare. Have MPP 6/100,000 coverage when we bought it, and it's still under the 5/60,000 Powertrain as of right now. SMH....WHAT THE F***. Does anyone know if i can tell the dealership to order ZSpeed Performance parts and replace em with that? I don't think so, but i figured I would ask. Thanks for lending shoulders my Z family. |

So I have basically read through this entire thread. I have a clutch issue but am able to pump it back up and there is no fluid loss. I have the ZSpeed CSC on the shelf. It looks like I will need to replace the Master Cylinder as well. I am really debating on replacing the entire clutch and flywheel and just be done with the whole thing. I have 46K on my '09 right now.
Another question: Is there a DIY for the CSC, other than what was written up on page 20 or so? |
Sticky: 370Z Clutch Pressure (CSC) Failures
No fluid loss=bad master, fluid loss =bad slave
DIY section here has a pretty good guide w lots of pics but not a sticky is towards top of first page. |
