So I tried to do a little launch and while I was spinning I shifted into 2nd at about 7k and the clutch stuck to the floor and I smelt clutch because it didn't come back up. Never experienced this with normal driving though. Solution?
Assuming my csc is starting to go? The sales rep that I had when buying this car said there was was a new clutch so maybe they didn't change the csc? I only have powertrain warranty I believe so I might get shafted. . Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Sick and tired of this car! So my car is in the dealer for the 4th time since march for the same issue. In march they replaced the clutch fluid with GTR, second failure was in July and they replaced the CSC, third time my car was in September and my car was magically working the next day so no replacement was done, at that point I had enough and opened a case with Nissan corp to get this on file and if it did happen again, to seek replacement etc. well last week it happened again and my car is now at the dealer again and I'm awaiting to c way they are going to say now. I am completely disappointed, this is my 3rd straight Nissan and this is the first time I ever had a problem. The dealer seems to not be helping much all they say is call Nissan corp which I did and reopened my case. No waiting to see wats gonna happen and at this point I want my lease terminated and want nothing to do with this car. Obviously I'm not the only one encountering this problem and it has caused me many problems at work. Btw the car was 11 months old when it first happened and had 6000 miles, it now has 12100 miles. The 4 times I've taken it to the dealer are the times the clutch went completely dead, it's been over 10 times where it just went halfway limb. Has anyone gotten their car replaced due to this?

replacing the entire car because of the poorly designed CSC? no
your case is an extreme one. (Joelito) mine went out at 24k. im at 61k now and it feels good still. (omg please do not jinx me on this) i shift carefully and dont jam the clutch pedal down, or launch the car because im concerned about it breaking again. if it does its out my pocket. for some people its all in the way the dealership bleeds and installs the CSC. im not sure if there is some special method...??? p.s. if anyone is wondering the GTR brake fluid is $45 a quart at Nissan. :/ Last edited by fuct; 12-18-2013 at 11:58 AM. |

Update from my last post...so my dealer (Mossy Nissan Escondido) confirmed a third CSC failure in 20K miles. I do have to say hats off to my dealer though. I explained what was going on and that something else in the assembly had to be prematurely failing the CSC aside from it's inherently poor design. They took my concerns to heart and they (yes THEY...without any prompting from me) started talks with Nissan HQ to make sure it got fixed right this time. On their first tear down of the tranny they replaced the CSC and their master tech checked out everything...the clutch/flywheel/master/pressure plate to see if everything was within spec. Nothing was out of spec (aside from the leaking CSC) so they put it all back together. Once it was back together they checked it again and didn't like the amount of play/chatter so they tore it all apart one more time and replaced everything. I even got some GTR fluid, ha!
When I picked the car up on Tuesday night, I immediately noticed a huge difference. My clutch used to chattered off and on from the day I bought it new and others on here had complained about the noisy nature of our clutch, so I just assumed that's how it was. It drove fine before, even though it chattered, so it didn't bother me too bad. But now...the engagement is much better and I can shift it like butter every time now. Best of all, there is no chatter to be found at all! I cannot say enough good things about my dealer. They have always been great to go to (I used to drive 30 miles to service my car at this particular dealer) but their extra effort to fix this issue has spoken volumes of their customer service. Time will tell if this CSC will hold, but so far I am very pleased. |

Dude order the HD CSC and take it to them and say "hey use this instead" and let them install it. Done and done. If mine had failed 4 times eventually id be like screw this.

well at first i was thinking to replace the CSC but first i told my mechanic to try replacing the clutch fluids cause there might be air bubbles inside. the clutch pedal came back to place and act normal. anyways im going to buy a new CSC to lay in my house just in case... Thanks alot, this theard was very usefull! |

So I was pulling out of dunkin donuts today and noticed my clutch pedal lost a ton of it's resistance. The car shifted fine but the clutch pedal had almost no resistance down to the friction point. Actually it seemed the friction point was closer to the floor. Than after a little while of driving it felt fine and was back to normal. Could this be an indication of the csc failing? I'll also add I have a 2012 purchased in march of 2012, ~36k miles. No tracking or anything like that.

More of an indication of air in the lines. Air might have entered through the csc by the seal but if the seal failed completely then the fluid would have drained and you never would regain pressure
