I disagree with you as well. pushing the stick forward is like up and pulling it back would be like down so it makes sense to me.

I use both but trying to use the paddles more since I found out pushing the stick forward when in auto mode is not a good thing...

I've done this a 100 times. It's embarrassing

I do a mix. I find when I pull out and make a 90 degree turn onto the highway, I want to shift up before the steering wheel returns unless I'm really being aggressive - even then, I think I can get pretty close to redline before the paddles are easily reached.

So, I tend to hit the stick for 1-2 those times, and use the paddles the rest of the times.

Though I wish the paddles were a little softer to use, and a positioned a little better for my (ingrained now) 9 and 2 driving position. At 10 and 2 I would think both paddles are a bit of a reach. The Ferrari's look like they have their paddles setup to reach 10 and 2, and the F1 cars turn with the wheel.

Any help on finding that thread? I'd really like to do this but after trying multiple searches here and in the DIY section I can't find anything about it.

I found a thread on the G35 - you just need the wiring diagram for the 370Z:

G35 Automatic Shifter Modification : Infiniti Articles

Looking in the hard to read service manual, looks like connector M137, pins 1 & 3 should be reversed. M137 is apparently the control device harness connector.

Hey WilsonP, I should finally have time to do this this weekend. I downloaded the 2009 service manual (I cant find a '10 but there really shouldn't be any difference) and though it's hard for me to follow I think I should switch pins 2 and 3 not pins 1 and 3. Do you agree? I'm basing this on page 241 of the TM chapter.

I just base it off of how whenever you see someone in a movie (I know hollywood, but still and NO I'm not talking about any F&F movie ) that whenever you see them slam it down into gear its always pulling it towards them from a passenger floorboard angle looking up at the driver... So I always see that playing in my mind when I get on the gas lol
