For any current 7AT owners, I would like to confirm something.

If you move the shifter over to the "manual" mode, does it still shift up and down for you? Does it drive more aggressive compare to just full auto mode?

I presume if you touch the paddles, it won't shift for you at all (unless you are coming to a stop and to avoid stalling the car). Wasn't sure if this were the case with just moving the shifter to the manual mode. Hope this question makes sense...

I guess what I am trying to confirm is whether z has the following tranny modes:

1. Full auto
2. Sport auto - more aggressive shifts but still auto
3. Manual - does not shift for you at all (except slowing down)

your assumptions 1,2 and 3 are 100% correct. how ever when you move the shifter it id from d (drive) to DS (Drivesport) in ds it will shift for you and more aggressive. in DS if you hit the shifter or paddles it enters manual and will not shift for you (unless you are slowing down)

How ever in D mode you can still hit the paddles and drop a few grears it will tekperarly put the car in DS manual mode and revert back to D mode after you let off the gas and resume "normal" driving.

How do you select the ds option? I don't see it in the pictures.

Hi Shumby - thanks for the reply. I see that you are G37 owner and in fact, I got those 3 modes from G37. Most high performance cars have these three options but I have doubt that Z has this "DS" mode.

I think it's either all auto or all manual.

No DS mode...that I'm aware of. You get auto or manual. When in manual the computer only shifts for you when the revs are too low to maintain engine operation (less than 1000RPM). Again, no "sport auto" mode that I am aware of...could be an option on the sport package.

I'm not trying to be a ****, but this is the third time I have answered this question or one just like it. Maybe one of the 7AT threads should be sticky? Again not trying to be a ****, just pointing out the facts.
