Why does everyone think that adding nitrous will instantly cause your car to explode? Nitrous can be just as dangerous as a turbo kit, but it can also be just as reliable. Of course you'll want some way to tune the car for the added nitrous and not just install the kit and go, much the same you wouldn't put a turbo kit on without a way to tune it. When used properly, nitrous is great fun. I'd love to put a kit on my car and get an extra 100 horses or so, but doing so WILL void the warranty which is something I'm not wanting to do just yet.

NOS can be safe if used properly.

I disagree. I simply cut a single hole in my hood, mounted a NOS bottle there, cut a hole and hooked into in the intake plenum, and cranked the bottle open. evilNOS then blew up my motor! NOS SUX!

i think your motor blowing up is a result of your improper mounting method. Personally for that sort of setup, i like to use bungee cords.
