New and looking for some power gain imput

Im wanting to make some work power with my 2010 370z Nismo, mainly for dragging. Id like to focus on turbos, intake, and exhaust but also open to other upgrades.

Intake wise I have heard good things from Ingen systems, anyone have experience with them or suggest another.

Exhaust wise I have a Greddy SP2 catback system and Z1 testpipes on my 1990 300zx and I loved them, great sound "that im looking for" and amazing performance everyone wants. So I favor Greddy alittle, but again open to suggestions. Also need a good set of test pipes and so on....

Turbo wise ill be honest i dont know much about them.

I want to keep my 370z as a daliy driver but i want to get the most out of her. So I want to learn and know everything I can so please help.

Well I can help you with Bolt-On parts. Turbo and stuff like that I as well am learning still and is way way way down the road if ever for me. Intake I suggest Stillens G3 CAI. It has proven power gains and the filters are up top so you dont have to worry about the water. Exhaust I would say go with Fast Intentions. I have heard nothing but good things about there CBE LTH's and TP/HFC. Thats me, and thats the set-up I will be going with. I'm sure this thread will be a million pages long LOL.

Well if you want to spend the money now to Forced induction then you wont be buying any intakes.

so with turbos i have to keep stock intake? or do they make a short ram intake system that will still fit with a turbo kit?

oh and if people have exhaust suggestions, ground clearance is a big thing. I have seen alot that hang down really low and i cant have that.... speed bumps at work :(

Ive also heard alot of good things about FI but there exhaust looks low in the pictures. ive been looking into the greddy turbo (80mm) ti-c CBE. this is the 4th exhaust ive looked into. research alot before you make a desicion on anything. im looking at the 80mm cuz i know im going to turbocharge the car eventually and is partially why im looking at the ti-c (80mm) right now. i believe they make a 3" test pipe also...

if you want to keep the stock look you could look into gthuas but its expensive and VERY loud. stillen is also good for sound price and keeps the stock look. stillen is proven and you should be able to find alot of results on the exhaust on youtube. youtube is your friend when looking for exhaust setups and sounds.

good luck.

No the Turbo kit will come with them since it is a whole new setup. Going with the GTM twin turbo will come with
headers
intakes
intercooler
pipes for intercooler
turbos
fuel pump
injectors
all h/w for mounting and installation.

If thi is what you go with do not buy anything for the engine. Test pipe wise I have the GTM resonated ones and I love them. No rasp sound, CEL light of any sort. Make sure you read up on the kit that you choose before you buy anything would hate to see you waste the money

thx, i think i have desided to go with the GTM tt kit. I may just go start for the Stage 4 kit. I think im going to finish it off with a Greddy Ti-C exhaust. But would lightweight pullys and flywheel be a good investment with these and does anyone know of any lightweight driveshafts on the market? And im always open to other engine upgrade suggestions. Im always looking to get the most out of my motor. Well minus spray, i dont want to blow my motor with NOS.

I don't know the piping size on the Greddy, but if you're going turbo you better have a 3" exhaust.

you do not need a 3 in exhaust 2.5 will work fine. Theory goes 2.5 will give you more of a lower end and where 3 will give you more upper end but you will lose some lower end. I am running 2.5 all the way through my car and compared to the people that have 3 in exhaust I do not see a difference in dyno numbers. Also if it does make a difference it is very minimal.

+1, I cannot tell you how many times I have to tell people that you don't NEED 3"+ piping for turbo applications but when you want higher gains there is a point where the exhaust is a limiting factor.

To the OP, if you're looking for bolt-on's to cut down on your ET, check out the 12.6XX @110.XXX run all n/a by a fellow member on here. Jnaut is his username I believe. It's under the track section.

fairladyZ34 09-09-2010 11:58 PM

the route im going is just to do suspension work now, and not even bother with simple performance parts because eventually i wanna boost the car. and im in no hurry to void the warranty
