Ohio dropped their smog test but it looks like it may be on it's way back. Of course there is a big argument about the cost to the less fortunate. For those, if their car looks to be trying out for one of those WWII navel battle scenes while laying a trail of smoke down the highway it's supposed to be ok.

If your vehicle is six years old or newer, you will be charged an annual smog abatement fee in California when you register your vehicle, rather than being required to provide smog certification. The longest I have ever owned a new car is about 4 years, I have never had to get a Ca. smog test, so I'm not worried about the 370z one bit. I wont need to smog it until 2015, providing I still have the car then.
